2001 Here I come!

SO me and my dad took a trip down to Seattle today and met up with this nice lady there who owns a 2001 Laser Red MTX V6 Cougar fully loaded with every option except 6 disk changer and traction control! well neadless to say after crashing my 99 cougar it was time to move up a year or 2 after having the generical 99 cougar problems so I bought the 2001 with the grey leather interior with full power driver seat and a sunroof along with sports and comfort packages! I'm picking her up for 8000 USD and I'm bringing her back across the boarder to Canada on tuesday! I can't wait! I have to get a new driver side mirror and driver side tail light and passenger side fog light so if anyone has these parts in good working condition let me know! I only really need a tail light cover piece because the corner of the tail lights broken off and that won't pass canadian inspection to liscence it as a registered canadian vehicle! so yah anyways I also took pictures but when I wen't to upload them onto the computer my computer said the card needed to be formated again I was mad! but yah what does everyone have to say about it! I'll get some pictures on tuesday or wendsday when I go down next week to pick it up! (I have to wait a week because I need 72 hours at the US boarder to export the vehicle, not including the weekend) anyways I'm off to bed because I need to wake up early tommorrow to head to the boarder to get the 72 hours under way!

thanks I'm excited! looking forward to a sunroof thats not going to break on me! and a cup holder not a spiller plus leather seats (the ONLY thing my 99 cougar didn't have)!

thanks nows when the hard part comes, all the importation paper work and vehicle inspections and [censored] to register it as a Canadian Vehicle and before any of that even starts, I have to give the US border 72 Hours (3 days) warning before I can export the vehicle out of the US of A! geez the hoops they make you jump through to import and export a vehicle now a days! oh well I'm gonna get the vehicle for about 10,400 CND after all taxes and import fees, plus the cost to fix it up to Canadian standards which could run preety high! but I figure I should have the vehicle in my hands liscenced and registered in Canada for about 12,000 CND and the cost of a registered Canadian 2001 Cougar with these options on it in Canada is around 18,000-20,000 CND before any of the 7%-14% taxes depending if it's a private sale or not! so I think I'm making out like a bandit here, not too mention I can't even find this car in BC right now, theres 6 2001-2002 Cougars listed right now in BC and none of them are what I want package wyse, most of them are ATX and the 2-3 that aren't are low ass optioned ones and the 1 that even comes close is 19,000 CND to buy and I just don't have that money!

Oh that really sucks... I wonder why that is? oh well it's 5:45 in the morning now and I'm leavinmg in 15 minutes to drive down to seattle to pick it up, so I'll get some pictures up hopefully tonight before it's dark out! Man I'm tired, I hate morning!

You know it! but man am I ever pissed I drove back from seattle and the sunroof was working fine until I got about 10 minutes away from home I pulled into McDonalds closed it and came back out and it turned sideways! it's a 2001 so the plastic things that break on the 99/00 models aren't broken it's another stupid plastic piece on the bottom that pushes the sunroof up! so that was a piss off other than that the car is everything I wanted and more! (although I'd trade the grey leather seats out for black and red leather XR seats anyday lol) but yah the cars good and in my hands across the border and it's been exported from the US and 1/2 imported into Canada now, it just needs the 2 inspections now and I'll be golden! :D

yah it's in real good condition it has it's flaws but they can be fixed and they are being fixed in the next week or 2! So in like 2 weeks when it's all good and done I'll make sure to get a camera from someone and I'll post pictures up! I'll wax her up buff out the other persons paint that on the car from them hittin it before I bought the car, pull the minnor dent out, have all the [censored] detailed and have some real nice pictures of a stock 2001 Laser Red Tinted Cougar for you guys! ;) anyways take it easy!
