I was reading up about the new Ford Fusion that is coming out, when I noticed that the 3L had an optional 6 speed transmission. Does any one know about this new tranny? I know it would seem pointless for someone to do a tranny swap and not just go with the manual, but I was just wondering how much more power would make it to the wheel with this new 6 speed automatic tranny opposed to the slushbox CD4E. I'm also wondering how much of a weiight difference there would be.

Im not sure if this tranny would be swappable into our car without alot of work? Considering this is a much newer tranny than the cd4e it is probably actually lighter.
The new six speed is the same used by mazda and volvo, and would be alot quicker than the cd4e and deffinetly wouldnt rob as much horsepower.

If you go to the web site and build and price a fusion, they ask what options you would like to see on the 2007 model. I selected MTX w/V6 and AWD!!

Besides it actually it fitting and matting up with our engine, won't the computer also need to know how to control it. I don't think the swap would really be practical.
