i bought 2 sony 12" at 350 rms and a 15" at 400 rms and wanted to know what kind of amp to run. everything is at 4 ohms so i found a 1600 watt amp at 350 x 2 rms and 1600 bridgable max so i was going to hook up the two 12's on the two channels and bridge the 15 any thoughts?

that makes close to no sense
sell the 15, wire those two 12s down to 2 ohms and get a decent mono amp to run em

First you need to figure out wether or not you want to run a single 15 or the 2 twelves..running all three really is a waste..then you'll need to get us specifics on your subs and amps..Ohm ratings, and bridgability for that matter. once you can clear that up we can give you a better judgement.

also if i wire a 4ohm speaker down to 2 ohms could that fry anything? how do you tell if your down to 2 ohm or 4 ohms does it matter if they are brigded?

slow down..there are numerous speaker wiring diagrams on the internet. If you use the search feature you'll even find some posted in this forum. Wiring them down to 2 ohms would be a good thing for good pow4er..you can bridge them at the amp for a 1 ohm load on it and usually get its maximum potential..Of course the amp would have to be stable that low. Well at least now we have some numbers to get you started..Are you looking at a particular price point?

here (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp) is your wiring wizard
it wont hurt the subs to wire them @ 2 ohms. amps that even have 350 x 2 @ 4 ohms are damn expensive...a $700 rockford punch 8002 pushes 200 x 2 @ 4 ohms
this (http://www.cardomain.com/item/INFREF610A) is a good amp will push em pretty hard...not quite 700w rms but close. plus its only $200. damn good deal. remember to use good wire when hooking all this up. at least 4ga power and ground and 16ga speaker wire for the subs. your system is only as good as the wire you have.

p.s. ive been assuming these are single voice coil subs...if they're dual voice coil thats a different ball of wax.

i am powering the 12'' with that amp at 2 ohms and i have and xtant 121m 400 watt i believe that i would bridge to the 15
thanks for all the help

yeah that pa amp would work
yuou're gonna be runnin a decent amount of power with those subs in there, remember that the coug's electrical system is pretty crappy, you might want to get a cap. you're also gonna need power and ground distribution blocks. use decent wire, follow the diagrams closely, and youll be all set. good luck.

while I'm at it might as well ask, what type of circuit breaker should i get a 100 amp or 140 amp.
going to put that in place of the fuse by the battery didnt know if 140 was overkill.
thanks again
