Before you hurt yourself, stay out from under the hood.

You really have no idea how to post in a forum, do you?

Anyways, i don't know if an mtx cougar has it, but on an atx that is an overflow tube for the transaxle. I don't know of any other stray hoses in the engine bay. Unless you've been unhooking hoses and forgetting about it?

Surely those hoses attach to SOMETHING. I mean, hoses dont just float in the air by themselves.

The mechanics are wrong, there are no battery vent hoses.

Oh, I went to the same school those mechanics did. I have to agree with them. You might also want to change your blinker fluid every 4500k miles, and definatly be sure the hose is not disconnected to that one either, because the last thing you want is to be stranded on the side of the road with no hazards.

george you forgot to tell him that he also needs to change his muffler belt and exhaust manifold bearings every 10 thousand miles.

Your "mechanics" are idiots...
Sheesh...did they even look at the hose?
If they did they would clearly see that the hose doesn't even connect to the battery except at the tie down bolt. If they followed the hose they would of seen it ran straight to the transaxle.
I'm thinking that you really do need to stay out of the engine bay. Please tell me that you can at least change your own oil?
I'm still waiting for you to tell me where any other unhooked hoses are at.

Do these "mechanics" have Honda's with NOS and "R Racing" stickers down the side?

Did they say that at Pep Boys, the ultimate Import Modification parts store?

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up. Ford just issued a TSB telling everyone to change their alternator fluid every 5k miles, and you need to rotate you spark plug wires every oil change.
