Nailed a racoon last night. No damage, but I wus :smoke-g: and it scared the snit outta me. I swear the thing commited suicide. It looked like It threw its hands up to say, take me now. I saw another one lying dead when I hit it, maybe it was its companion, and it couldn't live on with them.
whoa, that's pretty fnked up right there.- stan

damn racoons.... i hit one this summer and ripped the bottom part of my bumper from the top part. but you cant tell unless you look at it. same thing happened to me. it ran 3/4 of the way across the road and then went back into my lane to meet its doom. i think i drug mine a little ways too. i guess that's why we're at the top of the food chain.

Yeah, Those critters have a death wish. I had my Cougar for less than a month and hit a big one, Looked at me and smiled then proceeded to run right in front of me. Took out my fog light, lower grills, cracked my bumper cover, then went under the car to take out the ac condenser, bend the tranny cooler, and radiator. Got everything all fixed up, then a deer ran out in front of me, so I could fix everything again. and people wonder why I hunt.

I scalpped a possum once.

I had a possum run out on me one time. Luckily he was far enough over to one side that my bumper just scooped him up and tossed him to the side like a plow. No damage except for a huge mud streak on the side of my bumper.

I ran over a dead deer on the road. Damn SUV was in front of me so I didn't see it coming until it was too late. Thank goodness I didn't have my kit on yet...

This reminds me of my friends cavalier! The only thing that was in good shape on his whole car was his rear bumper! Well, we were doing about 80 to 90 on the highway and all of a sudden a damn raccoon decided to end it all and ran in front of the car! He didn't even have a chance to slow down! It bounced all around underneath the car and then on the way out, ripped off his back bumper! I never laughed so hard in my life! We stopped and the damn bumper was gone! only thing left was the white foam stuff under the bumper. God, that was funny.

The only time I ever felt bad, was one night we were on a "nature drive" and I ran over what looked like a large black dog. It was already in the middle of the road laying down, and since it was black I didn't see it till thudump. That was in my mazda. At first I was like oh snit, then I looked at my friend in the passanger seat, and we started to laugh. Couldn't help it, total movie moment.

About a year ago I was racing a friend down a two lane highway out in the desert, this was before I had my cougar, I had an '89 Toyota Camry (http://members.lycos.co.uk/userdrew/elcarfront.jpg). We where going about 100 when a rabbit ran across the road and I missed it by inches. My friends car hit it at full speed. He had a 97 Accord Coupe, it did some serious damage and wasn't a pretty sight.

Lucky he didn't bite it worse.
