Hello I have a Ford/Mercury cougar 2.0 from 1999.
I am looking around for upgrading my air filter but not sure it I would only replace the filter or would it be better to install an air intake kit?
Is there a difference between them in horsepower? Do they both give the car a deep sound?
All info is welcome. Also sites where to buy these kits or filters.
Thank you very much

if you put a CAI or short ram, you will get a deeper sound, but not much. of you just replace the filter, it will sound the same.
if you want a deeper sound i suggest you mod your exhaust. happy moding

GMK would be your best investment. From what I see here on the boards, he is very good when it comes to fitment and craftmenship.

but gmk also told me first hand that for the i4 the CC mike work a little better since it is a little skinnier in piping. iono, but thats just what he told me, not bashing his product, but just relaying what he told me. I'm sure it won't really make that big of a difference anyways.

Thanks guys for the information.
I am very interested to install something like the K&N 57i/INDUCTION kit but this is made to fit the cougar 2.5. (24V)
Isn't there a way to make it fit the 16V?
