View Full Version : 3.0/2.5 Upper Right Mount?

This is regarding the mount that goes above the power steering pump... Seems the 2.5 mount will not fit in that area between the heads. Does the 3.0 one need to be used here on a straight 3L swap??? I am only asking since we do not have a 3L one on hand for comparison. :(

nope the 2.5 one is used, unless you engine is an escape engine, then they are the same but you may need to transfer a couple of the studs over from the 2.5 mount in that case

Are you sure? This is a 2000 Taurus 3L we are working with. It looks like you'd have to shave off about 3/4 off of each head in order for that 2.5 mount to fit.

The engine mount NEEDS to be installed before you put the heads on. It's SPECIFICALLY stated in the service manuals even.
The 2.5L CDW-27 engine mount can be ground down in spots to be installed with the heads on. It basically amounts to a grind and try process until you get it to twist and slide in.
The stock Taurus 3L mount HAS to be removed first of course.
