I have an older Sony 10 Disc CD Changer (CDX-U300) So I figued hey why not use it. I hooked it up to my head unit, but when I tried to use it the head unit says to push reset. I can't find any reset button anywhere on the CD Changer.
I'm really Stumped, I know it worked in my old car.
Does anyone know how to reset the CD Changer?
Any help would be appreciated

On the unit their should be a little hole the size of a pen head you can press that should reset it or if not maybe even on the control module itself.

I checked the whole unit, I even took the cover off to see if I could see anything. Nothing, I don't see a reset button anywhere. I use the headunit as the control module, I tried resetting that with the Changer plugged in but it didn't help. It still says "Push Reset" when you try to use the changer. I'm pretty good with electronics but I'm really stumped on this one.

If there is no reset button you can unplug the power lead... that is the same as the reset button.. reset just cuts the constant power lead..
Good luck

Well, I've had it in and out of the car several times and I still get the same "Push Reset" message.

just want to make sure.. do you know what the reset button looks like.. not trying to be insulting, just asking.. if not it will appear as a tiny hole near the eject button on the changer.. just push a pin or thin pen in there...
All i can think of..

Yes, I know what a reset button looks like. But this changer does't seem to have one. I took the whole thing apart to see If I could find it. But no luck!

One more thing.. are you sure that it is a compatible cd changer with your head unit... or is it fm modulted, cause sometimes the reset button is on on the fm modulator screen, otherwise.. man i dunno... last suggestion

Yep, both are sony, Both have uni-link system. It worked in my old car. I tried resetting the head unit with the changer hooked up. Didn't work, only reset the head unit. So my changer is basically an oversized paper weight:mad:
