Hey, I posted in the SoCal section, and I'll go ahead and post here too.
I'd like to get a good head start on planning for a caravan to CF2k5. I was curious about what route you guys have taken in years past.
I was thinking about going across on I-40 to Oklahoma City, then across on I-44 to St. Louis, then across to Indy. I believe LostRacer said something about possibly stopping for the night somewhere, instead of driving straight thru. If we stopped in Oklahoma City, I could drive the entire trip myself (no extra drivers). I went with my dad to OK City last year, and was fine the whole time, never slept (Thank god for being an energetic teenager). We made Williams (30 miles west of Flagstaff, AZ) to Guthrie, OK (15-20 miles north on OK City) in around 15 or 16 hours, and we stopped a bunch cuz we took our dog with us. We left about 5:45 am AZ time, and got there around 8 pm OK time.
Here's just an idea, I realize it may not work for you guys.
Tuesday: Get down here to PHX, crash out at one of our houses for the night.
Wednesday: Get up early in the morning, get on the road. Go to OK City and stop for the night.
Thursday: Leave OK City, get to Indy sometime mid-day.
Like I said, I'm not sure what would work best for you guys. I figured it wouldn't hurt to toss out an idea.
