Hey, I just saw the official announcement for CF2K5, and I was curious about the whole caravan thing. I do recall that Cali members went. What route did you guys take? I'm just trying to get an idea on mileage, if we have SoCal, NorCal, and AZ caravan together. I realize this may be too early to be asking for specifics, but I'm just looking for some "general info".

How long did it take you guys? How did driving straight thru work out for you guys? Would you recommend driving thru, or stopping somewhere for the night? How many drivers would you recommend per vehicle? What type of car prepping did you guys do before leaving? Anything special, for such a long trip?

Hopefully I can get some info that will help me plan a CF2K5 trip.

We had 3 drivers per car..Straight through took us 40 hours. It was something like 2500 miles IIRC. Planning early this year and stopping for at least one night would be a good plan :)
As far as prepping goes..normal longtrip preps. Fluids, air, emergency stuff. General maintenance take care of
bring hella CDs. I'd recommend caravanning up with SoCal to NorCal and we take off from here.

Which route did you take? I was looking at I-40 to Oklahoma City, then going up thru St. Louis, and across to Indy. Maybe we could stop for the night in Oklahoma City? Thats a good midway point (and I can visit my step-brother for a couple minutes. He lives in Guthrie, about 15 miles north of OK City.)

As far as music goes, I'll have me some Sirius Sattelite Radio hooked up.
