and im sure lots of you do too!!! someone (not me) needs to plan a frickin meet!! i miss ohio neco!!!!! and i have senior pictures to give all of you of me and my car ;)

im down for basically anything. dinner and a movie, chill out somewhere, mod meet (i have tons of mods i need to do, but am never motivated to get up and do them, so this would be good for me  ), or just anything!!! anyone have any ideas??

Im getting a set of those clear corners so a mod meet would be cool. I havent really added much to the cougar besides the system, and im not much with modifying headlights, so I could use some help.

JAMallott

i'm up for it, just not the weekend of the 18th,19th,20th. I won't be able to make it than... i've only came to one meet, i feel pretty lame. i LOVE what predator did to his lights. Those are hot! The only thing is someone would have to have a garage for a mod meet, cuz it's frickin freezin outside..

count me in if it is on a saturday. As for mods I really need to get done right now, I have to reseal my headlights(I am doing that next week while my cougar is in the shop), and then I still have the eclipse fuel door, with the center painted and all, just sitting in my kitchen. I really don't care whether it is a mod meet or not, just don't have me and Aaron caravaning with no cars in between! just kidding bro! lol

Has anyone here in ohio done the mod, of splicing the wires to the alternator so that the lights quit dimming and "fluttering"? If so I would like some help on doing that, because my lcd screens where the gauges are, want to flutter, but only when I have the air/heat running.

If we did make it a mod meet, I would be more then happy in joining with Aaron in the taking apart of headlights and installing the clear corners.

we can have it around me for once, then you all can see how bad I have hacked my car up this time... lol

haha, im down for about anywhere. ad it sounds like a mod meet is a popular choice. if anyone wants to hoast, just let us know!

It's not much longer than the "usual" Akron/Cleveland meet, I'd be up for something closer to Brian. We almost never get to see his Cougar except at a real show. (And when he gets all bad-@ss on us and drives it to Summit Racing  )

Any Saturday with decent weather (or even crappy weather if it's after I figure out my Tempo issues) except next Saturday, which is probably too short notice anyway.

Yeah, I'm down for a meet, anywhere in ohio as long as I have enough notice so I can get the day off (which means I need about 2 weeks notice :thumbsdn: )

I'd love to make it to another meet. It just depends when and where. Last week I was in a car wreck, luckily, it was my moms car I wrecked, haha! So i did $1800 worth of damage. So I need to help pay for that.....So depending on how far away its gonna be will be a factor. I'll have to check on my cash flow. But I definitly wanna try to make it to another meet since I've only been to one!

Wow, Heather! Sorry about your luck! Glad you are okay, though.

Man, I miss you guys; George, Dan, Chris, Brian - haven't seen you in ages.

Let's make this sucker happen. Anyone for February 19th?

LinkMan
01-30-2005, 10:20 PM
I'd be up for Feb. 19th!
That's President's Day weekend - Monday is a holiday for me (yea banker's schedules!), so I have a day to do the stuff I couldn't do on Saturday :)

JAMallott
01-31-2005, 12:11 AM
im down for the 19th. sounds great to me! now we need a place to do it....

what mods do you guys have to do? i have a whole list lol. i really want to get my RSTB installed since i will need a 2nd person to help with that. i also have my rear disc conversion, but that would take up a lot of the day, so i dont know. and im going to be ordering new struts here in the next few days, and i would like to do those when i do the rear discs (maybe same time i do the RSTB) to save myself some time in disassembling some things multiple times....

and then we have some headlights to dig into ;) anything else???

Brian's place would be awesome for a meet - if you're meaning your bro's shop. Hurry up and get a date set. I have no life so anything's cool with me. And I'll make Slade come too.

Jamie, will you have clear lenses on hand for all of us?

I'm down for a meet. And if we do it at Brian's shop then that means i won't have to bring all my tools.
I have mods i'd like to do but mostly it's paint work or it's things that i can't do cause i don't have all the parts necesary. It won't matter anyways because i'll most likely be bringing the ranger. Hell, if anything at least you guys could help me figure out where this noise on it is coming from. Just secure the date and i'll plan on being there.

racerx
02-01-2005, 10:57 AM
saturday the 5th should do nicely. We can hang out at my place for a bit, hopefully I can clear some of the ish out of the garage and we can do some work. I cant promise we will have the garage due to the fact my brother makes his living out of it and I am not positive he wont be working that day. No big deal though........

silverkat
02-01-2005, 11:37 AM
Yeah but your brother is super cool and does awesome exhaust work.

I could use some exhaust work!

Unfortunately though, on the 5th I will be coming back from Clevland, Tennessee. I would ask if we could maybe move it back one more week, however, I don't want to cause any inconvenience just for little ol' me.

As for the clear corners, I am staying kind of busy this week, but Friday, I have half a day off, so I will package them and send them out on Friday, then if anyone needs help with them and I can be at the meet, I will be happy to help out.

JAMallott
02-01-2005, 04:32 PM
that sucks you wont be able to make it jamie!!!

ill be abke to help anyone install them at the meet.

jamie: what kind of glue did we use? i'll go out and pick some up along with those mini clothes pins. so we can just do it the exact same way. we can also make up a nice how to on them for others that want to do this mod but cant make it to the meet.

jlcamp7
02-02-2005, 04:44 PM
pretty much any glue will work. the key is to use only a small amount of glue, because if you use alot it starts to fill in the design of the "lens".

Actually I take it back about not being able to make it. My conference I am going to be at gets over on Friday night, so I could just leave really early Saturday morning(like 2am or something) and meet up easily, since I go right through columbus and mansfield when heading back. yippee. Hopefully I can work it out. wOOt!!

racerx
02-02-2005, 06:50 PM
OK, its official then, I guess, meet at my place Sat the 5th. I dont care when ya'll arrive, We can do some work on cars, dependant on space. I might be doing a manifold cleaning on a friends car. Or maybe having it done while there. We'll see.

cool deal, i need to fix my exhaust leak, i finally figured out it's at the y-pipe joint of my headers, but not sure how to seal it. will silicone work? or maybe just try to tighten it more so? hmm

JAMallott
02-04-2005, 06:10 PM
probably a new gasket is in order. silicone will probably just melt off.

gyger
02-04-2005, 08:01 PM
probably a new gasket is in order.
There's no gasket between the headers and Yipe area. The way they mate together there
doesn't need to be a gasket there.

Just tighten them up again. Use lock washers this time if you don't have them on there already.

Like I said in an earlier post, I cannot gaurantee garage space and/or lift time for my brother does make his living out of the same garage. I was hoping for a usual meet not so much a "mod meet".......

JAMallott
02-08-2005, 08:40 PM
a usual meet sounds good to me too. all we need for the corners though is an outlet and a stove if you have one. unless jamie already has the sets pre made. then we just need about 4 cubic feet of space lol. it sounds like a lot of people want to get them in. but it shouldnt take too long. we can always go out to eat or something afterwards.

is their anyone somewhere that has a shop that can do a gmk cai unit on a 2000 ? i wanted to use the new instructions and leave the fusebox/battery in the same place. money isn't a big issue, but me being mechanically handicapped is. i'd like to set up something, whenever possible cause i've been trying to get this thing put in for like 2 months now and it's still sitting in my closet.

The clear corners are done for everyone that sent me a pm with their address. I am just being really lazy in sending them out. lol j/k. I keep running out of time. But I promise that sometime by the end of this week I will have them sent out, and as expressed before, you don't owe me anything for them. I am just happy to be a part of such a great group, here in the Ohio chapter.

Hey Jamie. I im'd you but i guess you never got it. Do you have an extra set of the clear corners? or are they only for older style headlights. I really really want clear corners and figured it be easier if you already had a mold or what not set up. Other wise i'll have to make them myself.

I'm not sure if i'll be able to make it or not.
My mom and stepdad will be moving shortly and i'll be needed to help them out. I don't know when i'll be needed, but that weekend i might be helping them instead of going to the meet.
It sucks cause i want to go, but my parents need my help. So i don't really have much of a choice.
