Hey Ive got a cracked head, the shops her in H'ville have quoted me around 2K to fix it. Personally i think ill be getting raped if I do it. Ive asked if they would do a 3.0L swap and most of the shops have said no! Saying it cant be done and if so they didnt want to mess with the responsibility of it breaking down and they having to fix it free of charge. My question, can some one point me in the right direction of a good shop/mechanic that would do a 3.0L swap for me and not try and fu@k me??? Really Ive had my car for 3 years and have driven it for a total of 1 year due to expensive A$$ hole mechanics that fu@ked me and didnt know what the hell they were doin!! So please if you could help Id appreciate it, I dont care how far I have to go to get a break!

well, i'm not really sure about a place that would do the swap for you... but maybe give arthur at trackmasters a call and see what he says, every car i've ever seen that he's done work on has turned out great. if u want to try and just get ur head fixed Leslie's garage on Washington St. does great repair work and are typically fair priced. good luck with getting that fixed man.

Washington St runs from downtown huntsville, across pratt, across Oakwood and continues on for a bit more. Fairly easy to find...

VERY cool!!!! So are they going to fix the head or are they going to do the motor swap? Lemmie know when you get it done. I wanna see the work first hand. HSV, has good people and bad people. For example out side of HSV in Hazel Green there is a place called D&D Motors where I took an 84 cavalier and had them do a rebuild on my motor and after draining my funds, wrecking the inside of the engine bay, blowing up a light on the battery which they used silicone seal on it and they still didn't have it done right. Went out of town for a week, came back to find a puddle of oil underneath. Now in fairness to them, this was a while ago so they may have changed management but...that is the biggest reason that I am EXTREMELY cautious about where I take my vehicles so if this guy is good, I wanna know. As far as tranny shops go, I took my 2004 Cavi to TNT on South Pkwy and they appear to be good. I would recommend them. As far as dealership work on the Cougar, Ray Pearman the guy I talked to was Steve Reeve and David.....somebody. In the body shop (yeah they wrecked the car when they were going to bring it to me - We are the talk of the shop) Dan....somebody. If you have problems there, call Gary Pearman. He is easy to talk to....
Engine shops.... As far as ones we have done business with, with the 67 Plymouth Barracuda and 70 Barracuda, we went to R&R. Wholesale Auto Parts has a machine shop for heads and we have taken some business there. SECO on Jordan lane has some stuff and a lot of your drag racing type stuff is there. They claim if they don't have it, they can get it...we shall see. They have flowmaster's in stock, some intake stuff, Royal Purple which is in the Cavi. Lots of good stuff and I am always looking for new shops that I can browse. I want to start my own NOPI here. I just need backing from people willing to help me get started and then licence to distribute and of course bays to do installs with certified people to do installs.
Ok enuff bookwriting for the nite.
Anyone wanna get together sometime and hang out. Cell is 755-7639 Nextel

Well when i took my car to Action Automotive the first 3 times it should have been a clue that these guys have no FU(KING clue on how to work on a car. I swear i dropped at least 3-4G's in that place! Never take your car there. But yea the only reason I took my car there to begin with was cause my bro in law reccomended me to have (robert) work on my car. Well he never even touched it so since he has his own shop now he can it. But yea if yall are ever down on S. Prkway go to the Advance Auto Parts in front of Hobby Lobby my bro-in law works there. Any ques and he can tell you he makes $18-19 an hour. He knows his [censored]. He does all the work on my car except for big sh!t then hell reccomend someone else for me. He knows alot of people and he can get alot of good deals on [censored]. If you go by there his name is Lino, hes the goofy looking guy with glasses. But hes never screwed me when it came to car or computer knowledge so any ques and hes your man.
