My cougar did not make it through the winter. In the first snow I slid into a snow bank and lost the streetweapon front bumper, in the second snow I slid into a curb and lost my left front control arm. The car is undriveable now. Bad tires seem to be the culprate. If anyone locally can help out or has any ideas please let me know.

Sounds like you need some new tires or you need to show more respekt to ice and snow. Control arms are cheap and fiberglass is easily repaired. I wouldn't worry.
By the way, thanks for posting. I need something to do in this chapter!

I found the control arm and will be putting on tonight. I am also in the market for new tires but don't know what to run with. I have 17in rims but don't know what brand would be best.

For tires, PM Caterina. He can hook you up at his Belle Tire.

Yeah, I can get good deals on performance tires, but you seem to be looking for more all-weather tires, which we don't sell enough of to get good prices on. (Being the shop's in TX and all.) Just get yourself a good all-season tire, stick with Dunlop or Goodyear, and you'll be good to go.
Sucks about the breakages, though. =(
