heheh, that would make the backseats feel like you're sitting in a rollercoaster

looks hot, but i'm forced to keep my factory front seatbelts on account that its illegal to only have racing harnesses, and it looks like that bar bolts TO the "B" pillar, making it impossible to have both like i do now.

wouldnt that make the rear seats practically unaccessible? you would have to climb like under them, as if its not hard enough to get in and out of our rear seats as it is.

like people actually sit in the back seat anyway but couldnt you do the same thing with the rear strut bar if you put the back seats down? Im pretty sure thats the way sonza has his

that is awsome how much you think they would run

for those of us that have no backseats and/or racing seats already this is awesome... it's almost impossible to get passengers back there with Racing seats... mine flip forward but the forward slide is gone with the stock brackets. I've always loved harness bars like this.. I'd be willing to get new harnesses for this bar.. just make sure Albert doesn't make it beefier than what is shown above or I will have major probs with my backseat sub box.

This has been an issue I've heard about...

To stay street legal with a racing harness, keep the original seatbelts intact. You can use/ have a racing harness seat belts but it is against the law to remove the factory seatbelts, kind of like removing your steering wheel with the airbag for an aftermarket one.

then why are Scroth racing harnesses the only ones out there that are 100% street legal? you can certainly remove your stockies...

and as stated 3 times now.. I'm in... got cash in hand too unless its really damned expensive.

How'd you mount your harnesses Crispy?

Well, seeing as to how this product is going to be made by Albert Mirko, keep a couple of things in mind.
1- Albert is a perfectionist that only makes high quality products. I'm sure those with the Mirko Racing rear strut braces know this from the huge 2 1/4" diameter T6061 anodized aluminum with custom machined flanges, mounting hardware and 1/8" thick sidewalls on the bar know this.
2- Since Albert designs and makes high quality stuff, it isn't going to be "cheap". If you want cheap, buy some pipe and make your own. He makes functional products that not only work but will work on a track. And not just any track, but something he'd be happy to use on a track as an SCCA pro touring race-car driver.
3- His rear STB ran $165 retail, that was for a straight bar and custom flanges. I would expect this to cost somewhere in the low $200-300 range but it will not only look flawless but function perfectly.

If any of you folks actually need a mounting point for your racing harness, Mirko's rear STB does and will work, because of the way it attaches to the car. He himself told me this when we were making them. :)

I'd be willing to pay $300 but hopfully with enough interest it will be more in the $250 range.

I'm in the same boat as you Chad... 250 - 300 and Polished to match my rear bar from Albert... Hopefully they will engrave the logo on it too...

I count at least 10 people that are down for this and another five that are maybe's and this thread hasen't even left the interior section yet, I'm sure we'll get more in the GB and other sections of the forum. I'd love to have one by Fest!

I have asked NorCalCoug to help me on this, He happens to know Albert personally and he has had prior success in getting new products produced for the cougar.

I did happen to get the last gb started on the rear strut bars but that was because all they had left in stock was a blue one and I think Albert didn't want to see me paint over his very nice anodized finish and engraved Mirko Racing Logo. :)

I may be in on this as well provided on the sole fact the Harness Bar does more than simply support my racing harnesses (my ST200 bar does that now).

If this Harness Bar can also provide a handling benefit I will be in. That is a very important factor.

Skywalker
02-15-2005, 07:04 PM
Well, Finally I have gotten to the group buy stage, now please don't make all my work for nothing, lets get this bad boy put into production.
Reply if your in here $290Ea (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=15&threadid=116534)

GrandMasterKhan, I would assume with the size of the bar and location it will help in the handling of the car but I will check on this.

Skywalker

People that said there where in on here need to post in GB and get this bar rolling!
