I'm very sad..

My little Louie passed away in his sleep last night. I miss my little guy.. he was so sweet.. And Lucy died almost a year ago...

He was very weak last night and he was getting very cold but there was nothing that I could do. So I put him back into his tank and into what I thought was a comfortable position for him. When I woke up this morning, he was in a different position, and he was gone. He must have used the very last of his strength to get comfortable and then laid down and passed away. He looks very sweet though.. Like he knew that it was going to be ok. I'm happy that he didn't suffer.

Now i'm hamsterless :( I miss all 3 of my babies...

Louie was 2 and 1/2 so I know he lived longer than most hamsters so that makes me feel better.

Anyway, I'm going to occupy myself so I don't cry too much.

Im so sorry Julie. My first male siberian hamster ( Spike) died when I was hanging out with my buddies on a Friday night. When I came home and saw him under his blanket that I gave em, I felt like a family member died :( He was just all curled up like he was when he went to sleep. I almost didnt want to get another hamster because I know they dont live very long in human years, but I did get another and I love Spike Jr. just as much as my last one. Im sure little Louie lived a wonderful and happy life in your care Julie, so just think hes in little Hamster heaven with all the sweet little hamster hunnies he can handle :)
