hey people!
I have a fully loaded 99 cougar and I just got it at the beginning of december. Well guess what never came with my cougar... thats right the manual! It seems like everyday I find a new button or figure out what one of the new buttons do.. today I figured out a few on the windshield wiper switch and found some new ones that I'm lost on what they do on the headlight knob! so if anyone has a manual that they would be willing to scan up or has a link to a 99 cougar manual or has a link to where I can buy one I'd appreciate it! Also I figure I'd try and figure out what these 2 new switches do seen as I'm lost... Okay one is when you have the headlights turned on you can pull the knob out and a green light that I'm assuming is fog lights, lights up???? I checked my fog lights and they never lite up, but they could be burnt out! and also on the same knob it has a light bulb on the knob and I push it down and I dunno if that does anything at all, but just figured I'd ask? thanks again
-cheers Cody W.

Hi! Welcome Cody W.!

First off...With the headlight switch...you pulling the knob out *SHOULD* illuminate the fog lights. Mine does.
And as for the other one...I'll have to take a look in my coug to see what you're talking about.
Once again...Welcome!

EDIT...Just took a peek in the manual...and your profile to see you in Canada Land...Perhaps it is something for the daytime running lights?

thanks a bunch! yah the guy before me had a little bird hit the bottom grill and it broke one of the fog lights and then proceeded to fly over to the otherone and get stuck in there and die where I found himm today as I was under my car! I had to disconnect the 1 fog light and take the light out because it was broken and every so often falling out and dragging and I guess the otherone just needs a replacement bulb! does anyone know where I could get a new right side fog light?

I've got a PDF of the 2000 manual on my computer somewhere. I don't think many things will have changed from '99 to '00. I'll try to dig it out and post it on my server and put up a link for you.

for replacement bulbs, go to walmart and get the silverstars, you cant go wrong there. foglight bulb numbers are H3. However they are 18 bucks a piece, but well worth it.

nullxposur...you rock.
New member here...just got my 99 2.5 5 spd today. My car had no manual either. I nearly [censored] myself when the traction control went wild while driving on snow. Fortunately, I was able to realize the icon on the panel and the icon on the button next to the rear heater were the same. But thanks for the manual...This will help me out tons. Seeing as Ford wants me to sign over my first born to get another key made I don't even want to know what they'd be asking for a manual.
