ok how many people have had this happen to them?
i was driving home christmas eve and i noticed someone in my blindspot just going the same speed i was. i kept looking trying to figure out why on earth they were there. i found out who it was wen he sped ahead of me, an ohio state trooper. we both got caught by the red light, so i stopped behind him, kinda in his blindspot. wen the light turned green, off he went like he wanted to race.

Sometimes it seems like ppl hide in your blindspot figuring out if they want to try and race you or not.

It sounds like he was trying to trap you. He could have been riding there, hoping you will speed up so he can pull you over. Cops can be dicks like that, and they usually are when they see a "sport compact" car, like the Cougar/Civic/RSX/Integra.
Does your car have any mods to it, like exhaust, body kit, A-pillar gauges? If you do, then thats why they do stuff like that. Its called "Sport Compact Profiling", and its running rampant nowadays, especially since everyone things they are "2 Fast 2 Furious" cuz they got the Pep Boys muffler and APC wing.

Its not just sport compacts. My dad is a cop and he says that some cops do that to anyone young and with a nice car. It gets annoying at times, but think about it. Who is most likely to speed or do something stupid? Thats the main reason it happens. Hell, everytime I ever drive around I get followed at least once, usually more. Just dont do anything stupid and you wont have anything to worry about.

indeed... i've been pulled over by an unmarked cop who said he was following me around for 5 minutes before he pulled me over. I thought i had made a friend.

have not raced a trooper but I have raced many cops around here but the thing about racing them is you have to stop at the speed limit. Plenty of times I leave from work and I get to the same light where me and a cop would line up and gun it when the light turns green. I have also once only once tailed a cop for going slow and he actually got out the way to let me pass but then later pulled me over cuz he "thinks" I was going fast but he just heard my loud exhaust and gave me a warning.

that was your mistake, passing a cop, anytime u pass a cop ur lookin for trouble. like u said he "thinks" ur going faster than him.
i have no mods to my car yet but hopefully soon wen i get the money.

I pass cops on a daily basis. When I'm going to school work and I'm on the 4 lane higways around here I just try to stay a couple lanes away from the cop and slowly move ahead of them. Or try to ride beside them till they run into traffic and make my way around the traffic quicker than the cop does. I have done this tons of times now, and have yet to get pulled over for it. Usually if you pass a cop on the highway their is someone right behind you willing to follow so even if the cop gets mad he would probably get one of the cars further back.

always a smart idea. i also love how when a trooper is on the highway, usually he is the only one in the left lane. lights on or not.
