Okay I kinda feel dumb asking this, but on the rotors I just bought they have some rust on them, anyone have any good ideas exacttly how to remove it without damaging the rotors or making them slick from lubricants? (yes Im being serious there)
I was thinking the rust on the new calipers could come off with a wire bristle tip for my dremmel?? Or just a wire bristle hand held brush too.
But anyone have anything else they would recommend? Cuz this might take some time lol.
Thanks!

Get a wire wheel and mount it in a cordless drill. It'll take forever with one of those tiny wheels and your dremel.

Use a Scotch Bright pad for metal applications. My brother in law works for a company that make semi rims and they use that to clean up the rims. It should take the rust off with a little effort and be the least harmful to the rotors. The calipers will probably need the wire wheel to get into crevices.

Yeah I would use a steel wool pad on them with some brake cleaner or carb cleaner.

Install them... and step on the brakes once, that will take care of anything in the brake contact path. LOL I am so lazy!

well unfortunatly, from what i remember after looking at them, the rust is outside the brake pad's path, so that wouldnt work....

No worries, I found a steel brush attatchment for my drill today so I went ahead and used it on the calipers themselves and then started on the rotors with steel wool, but Im gonna go get a softer bristled attatchment shortly an hit everything up tomorrow or tonight.
The calipers look a ton better and I cant wait to get these bad boys installed. If all goes well, tomorrow night I should be done or friday before I leave for NY.
The calipers are so massive, but I wanna make sure I get them looking good before installing them. And like Aaron said, some of the rust is out of the pads path, but Im gonna work on getting all the rust off everywhere before I use them. Hopefully Ill get to take it out before heading to school and can see the difference. Also I have to keep my 18s on all the time now, or keep it on stands when its stored cuz my 15s wont fit lol.

That was the main reason the big brake kit never interested me. I need those 15's for the track.

would 16's fit? slade baught the ones from the rosh cougar, but he was going to give me his old 16's to sell. so you could buy them for really cheap and use them in the winter.
that would look so frickin hilarious if the 15s fit lol.
