Well its been a long road. Lots of potholes along the way and tons of diversions. The time has come to hang up the keys. However I hope i wont be dissappearing from the keystone squad. The cougar was vandilized this weekend and the only suspect is my ex girlfriend. 3,500 dollars worth of damage to the vehicle. Because of the leinholder on the account all parts must be Kappa certified so getting a body kit and hood arent in the question. With the vehicle being over 100,000 miles and the troubles of getting inspected, its become appearent that its not worth it anymore. The car is only bluebooked at 4,000 and I'm sure its only gonna get worse. The car will be repaired by a body shop that will be selling me a car. Nothing is guarenteed however a Scion Tc, Chrysler Pacifica, and a Srt-4 may be in the plans. Theres a list of about 10 cars im looking at and ill make my decision after i check each one out. And much to the dismay i am looking at a civic too... but not to make into a show car. i just cant argue with a hybrid 4 seater for 19000 that gets near 60 miles to the gallon. plus it has a 5 star safety rating. The girlfriend lives 45 mins away and goes to school in syracuse so mpg is very important in factoring. Its been a great ride with keystone and ive some amazing times. It makes me mad that i never got to my goal but ive always dreamed big. My love for my Cougar is bigger then anyone elses but when you put out over 7,000 in 2 years just for repairs, its not worth the fun anymore. With that said, keystone neco is the GREATEST group of people i have ever met. So many times people were there to help me with parts when i need them including Blitzkrieg and his rotors, Spinnburns sparkplug wires, Dank13's installation of my led's and redbaron01 so willingly opened his house to me and my exgf last year at christmas time. I have to thank marty for letting me drive his car, kelly for being my neco babe, jeremiah and jamie for all of his help with rides, cruising and just plain hanging out. Jim for all the advice and for answering that phone everytime he knew it was me calling for help. A huge thanks for Dale opening his place for us to hang out, neco frat guys. He was always there to give me a garage to work on my car, opened up to let me talk when things wernt great and was just a true friend. I think my biggest thank you has to go to our wonderful President though. I have called on Keith so many times these past 2 years. It didnt have to be about a cougar his phone was always on. Whether advice on the gf/ ex g/f fiasco or just to see how i was doing he was awesome. Hes trusted me with his tires that are currently on the car and ive had is stock airbox for months now. He is a GREAT leader and being a younger guy somebody i can honestly say without embarrasment that i look up to. Ive had a great time with all of the Keystone crew and ive always said we have the best cougars in the United states, pictures prove it. Thanks for a great ride and for everything youve done for me, these forums are more then just a home to pictures and how-to's, this is a place for great friendships. Ill still be around on the boards and at the meets, but i just thought i'd make a formal announcment. Thanks Neco, Adam, aka Ih8civx.

pacifica was nice, but too expensive. The scion was the best by far out of the chrysler, cavalier and the scion. the only big problem is the 90 day wait...

Im going to have a bias opinion but the SRT4 is going to be your best choice. Thats why i got it, most bang for your buck. If gas mileage is your big concern than i guess a hybrid would be the way to go but other than that no car in the price range compares. The Scion TC is very nice but if your going to pay 19k you could spend just a little more and get so much more power. Once i got over the whole "its a neon" hump i was fine and i love my car. I thought you said one of your friends had one so take it out for a little spin if he'll let you and im sure youll like it. Honestly i dont think ill ever get a car with less power because i love the feeling of knowing i have it when i want it. Either way man sorry to hear about the Cougar and i hope everything works out for you with the new car. Id destroy that ex's car of yours though the first free chance i got but thats just me and im a HUGE fan of revenge.

you know adam...i know it says in the good book you are to turn the other cheek, but if you want to do some damage to the ex's car, i know of a big orange truck you can run into it with. but what would that solve.....but it would be fun. sorry to hear about the loss of the cougar. it's good you aren't ditching everyone though. i have been partial to the scions, but like you said the 90 day wait....you should go after the new mustang, base starts at around 19000.
