I would assume they would match up, but I've only heard of "extrude honed"...I am guessing it's a type of porting job? would an Extrude honed SVT upper, and a regular SVT lower match up skraight? or would modification need to be done at all?

edit: for a 3L hybrid of course...:)

edit #2: ok, the SVT upper and lower are both from different '99 contours, and my svt heads are from a 2001 contour...will the upper and lower match up together, and will the '99 match up to the '01?

All that stuff will match up 100%. But you don't need any aftermarket LIM. The LIM that came on your car is the same size as the largest SVT LIM ever offered.

So get the UIM of your choice, and it will bolt up fine.

Lindsey, Massiv is correct they'll match up fine. All SVT UIM's have been ExtrudeHoned. Ford was the first manufacturer to do this for a production vehicle the 1998 SVT Contour. Visit their website for the full story. Basically, it's a process where a putty like abrasive is forced (under pressure) through passages to smooth and/or enlarge them.

One thing that may give you a little performance boost would be to "port-match" the two, BUT - do the matching on the UIM only. You don't want to mess with the LIM or you could actually lose performance.
