what on the cougar would make the front end vibrate when accelerating between 30- 45mph and again at 65mph? i have replaced both front wheel bearings, passanger side axel, new tires all the way around, front end alignment. i am stumped and the vibration hasnt gone away. if anyone has any clue as to what may be causing this let me know. :)

Just a shot in the dark, but maybe a bent wheel

besides the obvious you may need to get your wheels balanced, but it could also be that u have a bulge in your tire that makes it lopsided

Have you tried checking your upper strut mounts?

Brakes maybe if really really bad.
Loose tie rod ends (alignment shop should have caught that)
Worn lower ball joint (alignment shop again should catch this)
Upper strut mounts.
Worn suspension bushings...pretty much anywhere
Tire/wheel issues (easy diagnosis is to start swaping tires front to back and side to side and see if the problem seems to travel around the car).

If its either the tie rods or lower ball joint you prolly dont wanna be driving the car at all. Pretty dangerous.

Oh- duh. Only when accellerating? add to the list:
Half shafts (cv joints)
motor mounts
Tranny mounts (eh, maybe, do they even have a tranny mount?)

Heres what i have done:
- Replaced Passanger side front axel (cheaper than replacing just the cvjoint & boot) (this past summer)
- Rotors & pads (this weekend)
- Both front wheel bearings (begining of the year)
- New tires (year ago yesterday)
- Front end alignment (same time wheel bearings were replaced)

Waiting on:
- funding for tranny cause its throwing a light
- engine mounts (dad suggested this last week)
- O2 sensors (no i havent got around to it yet, maybe this weekend)

On hold:
- Body Kit/ spoiler
- Dash Kit
- Paint Job
- Interior

Im to the point that i just want to pay the p.o.s. off and sell it. its too much into my pocket and its too much of a headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh maybe the things you replaced went bad  Maybe you should just get rid of it. Then you wouldn't waste so much time complaining about it and you'd have piles of money (picture rolling around the bed on cash  )

If you replaced the entire knuckle assembly you should be fine but if you just replaced the bearings inside the knuckle you may have saved a ton of money but you will be doing it again cuz they wont last. Doesnt really sound like bearings though. Sounds like tie rods/ lower ball joint/ suspension issue as opposed to drivetrain. A good alignment/suspension shop should be able to narrow it down really quickly. Hard to tell on here without hearing/riding in the car. Good luck.

my grandfather who is completely deaf was able to hear it/ feel it. we were driving back from kent and he said "whats that? sounds like some things wrong with your front suspension. maybe struts? i had the same noise with my truck and i replaced the strusts and it went away." then he went on about the engine light and started to freak thinking my car was going to die any moment. >.< i explained 3x it didnt really have to do with my engine.

Ive not seen a cougar get more than maybe 40K out of a set of struts so if you have the originals youre long overdue. Even with stock springs.
