I've been meaning to try my hand at SOLO2 for two years and today I finally made the event.. I enjoyed it so very much.. wish I had been able to get out there long before now.

Ran my first scca Solo2 at the Oakland CA coliseum.. Had to run my Cougar in Street Modified ~40 car entry) because of the over-sized (330mm) front disks. Since this was my first Solo2 event it was just sort of for fun anyway. As some of you might know my experience prior to this was some track time at Laguna Seca and Thunderhill race circuits..

Anyway, here is the damage:
1st run .. 63.045 sec. (ouch) :flushed:
2nd run .. 60.172 sec. (there is hope)
3rd run .. 56.778 sec. (not bad for a ATX) ;)

For comparison on times, there was an experienced driver there with a Contour SVT who's best time was in 57.???..

I still had plenty of margin left in the Cougar's handling and power performance .. so I need to get more experience using the ATX and the CFM to it's best advantage. Of course, running the course with a full gas tank wasn't the best of ideas either.
Now to consult the rule book and see if I can get out of the sm class..
