DOes anyone autocross i nthe NW indiana region? I was thinking about starting this next year after the winter. I just wanted some advice on how to get started, and if i needed to purchase a helmut right away. If anyone is in the Nw region, have you by chance seen a kid in a evo? I just kind of want to know how hes actually doing on the courses.
Thanks

I believe jaged has run an event up there. He should be running another one this Sunday. I'd suggest trying to make it out ther if you can so you can get a feel for how things run.
The novice handbook (http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm) is a great place to start preparing for your first event. That should cover most of the basics, but feel free to ask if you still have questions.
You shouldn't need your own helmet for your first event. Regions usually have loaner helmets available, but if you decide to run regularly you should definately invest in your own (you can get one for under $100).
