Hey All,

I am not too sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes....

I am looking to sell my 99Red ATX and keep only my Silver MTX. However, about a month ago or so, my interior left blinker bulb is burned out. Though I don't think I technically need it to pass inspection [in MD], I would like to replace it prior to selling it. I was told though that I couldn't just pick one up at Wal-Mart or whatever.

So, does anyone know where I can get one - preferrably online? I really don't like any Mercury dealers around me. But, I guess I could go to a Ford dealer - but ideally after all other options are exhausted.

Anyway, thanks for any help anyone can provide!

coincidentally i had to do this for a fellow neco'er (only she had two cluster bulbs and both led screen bulbs burnt out)
i just just took one that wasnt in use, or used very often, for instance hers had a bulb in the traction control or some other spot (i forget now), took the bulb out of there and stuck it in the left turn signal spot
theyre about $4-5 from the dealer

Hmmm....take out another bulb....I don't know about that. I think I wouldn't mind it, but I am selling this ATX, (and keeping my MTX). and don't want anyone being upset if they find out a bulb don't work :flushed:

But, you say $4-5 from a dealer - that's pretty reasonable.

I should also ask then if the bulb is what determines the "Green" color of the blinker or is the guage lense what determines the color?

Thanks for your help!

the green color is from the lense, the bulb itself is just a small halogen w/ a special housing made to twist in
i would check the cluster and see if there is a bulb in the traction control because its part of the euro cougs and will never be used anyway
up to u man, good luck

Hey Cae Sly,

When you say traction control, what are you referring to? My MTX has traction control but the indicator is in the center part of the dash where the rear defroster is. Or, are you saying there's basically an extra bulb within the main guage cluster?

Also, thanks for clearing up my mystery about the lense color.

Thanks !

there is a trac control bulb on your speedo cluster, if u have traction control u probably oughta leave the bulb in the cluster, in the case of the cougar i worked on she didnt have the trac control option thus the bulb in the cluster was useless
i would just pick a bulb up at the dealership
