Hot import nights is comming to the IX center (next to Cleveland Hopkins Airport; same location as the annual Cleveland Auto Show) on Saturday, October 9th from 5pm until midnight. If anyone is interested you can find info here: HIN (http://www.hotimportnights.com) Tickets are available on the site and are $27.50 each. Diane and I will be there and I am sure a few of you will be too. This is one of the few real national car shows in our area and should be amazing. I live about 20 minutes away from the event if anyone needs a place to meet up/ clean up/ etc before or after the event.

That's to walk around and look at the cars!?!?

Yup- but this isnt just a "walk around and look at cars" type show. This is the high energy, techno-thumpin, hot pants and bikinis, insane cars you dont see in Ohio car show. Yeah tickets are high but look at it this way, Indians or Browns tickets are more expensive and the game doesnt last as long, NASCAR tickets are rarely under $100 each and the race is only +/- 4 hours long. Its a lot of money but not really out of line with other "sporting" events. Car registration (should you choose) is $53.50 (these prices include the handling charge). Also, there may be up to an $8 parking charge at the IX center. Autoshow parking is always free but most events have a charge- I am not sure if this one includes parking.

I'm interested. I don't think anything is happening that weekend so i should be free to go.

EDIT: Should i order tickets through the site now, or wait and get them when we get there? I assume they'll be more expensive at the gate?

Basically, I suck at life again.... All I wanted to do ALL summer after Fest was go to this show, well okay that wasnt the only thing, but a major one. And it happens to be my Great Uncles 90th bday so I was gonna fly from Cbus to Cleveland and back because the party is in Lancaster about an hr from Cbus or so and was like ok sweet, I can do this, until I talked to dad and he told me what plane tickets would be lol

Then I was like Ill just drive up after the party, oh wait no.... Its our biggest first semester fraternity party, so naturally I have to be present. Seriouslly, its like this, Im going to be able to go home one time during first semester. Thats it, fall break which I forget when it even is, and the only real reason I can go home is because my friends wedding is that saturday night and well... IM IN IT lol. I mean seriouslly, this semester is going to be the end of my life besides school and fraternity life lol.

Me 'n' Slade are going - I assume since he made this post. What time are we looking to go? 6:00 - 7:00?

Pyro81
10-04-2004, 07:05 PM
I'll be going.
Slade, are we meeting up at your place before heading over?
If so, when and where?

silverkat
10-06-2004, 10:38 AM
I talked to Slade yesterday and asked him what he's wanting to do. He doesn't want to make a big project out of meeting. With his work schedule, I never know when he'll be on here to post. So I'll do it now. Since he'll be working in the ghetto Saturday, what if we all met at his place around 6:00pm - 6:30pm. Is that good for everyone? He also said that since I have a key, I can be there to meet you all in case he's not home from work. He's a couple miles from 71, which is only a few minutes from the I-X Center. Let me know if this is OK. Also a few things I found and reminders..

** www.hotimportnights.com (http://www.hotimportnights.com/)
** Tix are $27.50 online and can be picked up at will-cal with an photo ID and credit card. I don't know what the price is at the door. I can't imagine they'd be much more.
** Saturn is having an AutoX type thing with a Saturn ION, free of charge ION Red Line Challenge (http://www.vmhouse.com/main/profiles/saturn.asp)
** The Cleveland Cavalier girls are supposed to be there (wahoo  ) along with all the HIN models and other hot b!tches
** And Brian will be showing
BTW, which category are you in Brian?

Damn- I really cant miss any more work...but know this; while youre setting up your car I will be directly across the runway from you working. I have a nice big view of the IX center from the UPS air hub next to the NASA building. If you look towards NASA just wave and I'll wave back (not that we will be able to see each other that far away). Guess I'll do the will-call thing I suppose. Oh and about the display Brian, "always bet on black".

Lets make that 5:30- 6:00 meet at my place for anyone interested. I wanna leave by 6:00 I think. Maybe we will stop and eat real quick if y'all want to? Lots of places within a minute of my place and a few on the way.

I drew up some maps to Slade's. I'm assuming the majority of people will be on 71, but there is a 77 map too. If you can't understand, let me know. Or you can MapQuest yourself. Also, if you PM me, I can give you my cell number so you can find his building.

I am unable to make it to HIN, sorry guys :(

I'd love to see a show where Brian's (RacerX's) Cougar is "Mild"! Good luck Brian, and I'm sorry I won't be there to show the Cougar luv.

Some one PLEASE take a lot of pics, and you must take a pic of "The Gift".

Have fun everyone :)

Lisa and I wont be able to make it. We have some things around the house we need to do before the snow starts flying (her father is helping me) and then we are going to her brothers to put her side steps on the Trailblazer (his neighbor has a lift so that will make it much easier).

Good luck Brian! Again, everyone take a lot of pics (including the gift). Like Mark said, there must be some heavily modified cars there for Brian's car to be Mild. Hehe, what would most of ours be considered, Stock, or would we just get laughed out of the IX Center. I'm pretty sure that Crispy is going to be entered as well (that's what she was planning a couple months ago).

Have fun everyone!

I'd help you out, Brian, but i'll need a place to stay up there as i would be way too tired to want to make the trip back. Even if i did get some sleep i can't. I might be going into work tommorrow morning depending on whether or not they need me. But i'll still be coming to attend the event regardless.

Brian (both of you) are welcome to stay at my place tonight if you need to. I'll be working and all but I am only about 20 minutes from the IX center (maybe less at that time of the day). I go into work at 7pm tonight and wont be home till about 4:30am but I have NES, SNES, PS2, Digital Cable, and a DVD player to keep you entertained. Diane has a key so maybe she'd let you in if you ask nice. Youre welcome to any food and stuff. Saturday I am working all day up until the show but again, if you need a place to hang out during the day youre welcome to. Call me if you need anything.
