One of my dad's friends has a 88 turbo thunderbird engine that he has had for forever that was barely used. The car was totaled so he just kept the engine and never got rid of it. Is it possible that
I could use the turbo and maybe anything else off of it in turboing my car? The intercooler is not a front mount, it goes on top of the engine under a vent in the hood so I would not use it, I'de get a front mount.

any turbo can work on any naturally aspirated engine with the right applications to run it.. i would first check to see if the turbo it self is still good, check the to see if there is any shaft play. if there is then its no good, you can go ahead and use it but your just gonna waste time cause it wont last very long. unless you wanna re-build it, but that aswell is a waste of money cause you can get a T3 for a hundred dallars at a junkyard. but yeah if the turbo is still good then you have a good T3 in your hands, that .64a/r and 55 trim will work well with our 2.0 liters.

and about that intercooler from the thunderbird that is a top mount, yeah you can prolly use it but i wouldnt recommend it. im pretty sure that intercooler can prolly handle no more than 8-9 PSI. but if you do use it, get it pressure tested to see if it holds. i rather just find a Mitsubishi starion front mount for cheap.

if you put all that time, hard work into a turbo project just go ahead and get a used turbo for a few hundred dollars....

edit:..just noticed who posted this...how's my former pride/joy runnin? :)
