Actually that super secret little project I mentioned in your other thread ... is ilneco.org. I'm probably gonna get my ass fired since I'm spending time I shouldn't be on it... but I want it done.

Here's the deal... right now its hosted on my servers at home from my cable modem. This idea always worked in the past in Woodridge, but ever since I've lived in Aurora I've just had crazy problems. My cable goes down daily, my servers crash weekly... it just isn't working.

So I've purchased a years worth of hosting on a managed server with a real OC3 connection to the Internet. No more problems with that setup.

However, instead of just moving the old crappy site over I decided its high time I rebuilt it. So I currently have a home page, with a working login script... that's about as far as I got. I was trying to use it as a project to teach me ASP.NET... but its just gonna take too long so I'm scripting it as fast as I can in ASP 3.0.

So that brings me to my next question. What would everyone like to see on the site?

let me know if you want any help. (i have a VB book that covers ASP to a certain degree :))

i may have an idea or two for the actual site but I don't know that I should have much input, being as I probably won't be living in Illinois.. (anytime soon anyway, perhaps in 5-10 years..)

... how about we stick with the usual... join page, members page, login section to allow you to change your own profiles... and upload your own pictures. I'm planning on adding a section to list shops you've gone to and rate them. There are a few shop's I've taken the cougar to that I'd like to tell everyone to go to... and a few I'd like to tell everyone to stay away from.

I'm going to try and get a page up today to show everyone what to expect...

also - under the "login" pages, perhaps have phone numbers listed?

BUT ONLY FOR MEMBERS WHO ARE "CONFIRMED".... meaning someone has tested that they have there own # listed on the website..

i think that's how MC-NECO has it... i think that's a good idea :)
