Was saying goodbye to everybody today. :(

I miss you guys already. . . I met/got to know more people this year and reminisced about CF with "old timers".

CGBurns thanks for babysitting ;)

Yakko69 glad you stayed after all.

Mtang4life - You are freaking AWESOME!!!! You should change your name to NASCAR Mechanic. You dedication to helping all of us who had somesomething breakdown or needed things installed was AMAZING. You are definitely CougarFEst All-Star!

Thank you Organizers! You took CF to a level where we only dreamed of. Ignernt  thats all I can say :)

It was my first CF and will most definately not be the last. EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful with suggestions and advice. I was concerned that I wouldn't really "fit in" being so much older (47) than the the majority of the attendants. I was so wrong! Everyone made me feel very welcome and encouraged me to join in with them.

Thanks to all my new friends and

MANY thanks to everyone that made this possible.

I can't wait until next year!

LMAO- wow that is badass.

Don, thanks for rolling with Ohio yesterday. We are all back safe and sound. You rock and your car sounded great on the highway...and seeing you push-start the thing all the time was really funny to me (sorry). I had no idea you could even do that with a modern car. Thought it was for 4wheelers and stuff. Good to know I guess. Ohio loves you man!

It was definately a blast. A belated good-bye to anyone I missed on Sun morning.

I think Chris (mtang4life) set a UIM swap record at 26 min, which included 3 or 4 minutes of searching for a dropped part.

I'm looking forward to next year already!

Does anyone have any real quams about Fest overall? Something you'd like to see addressed or handled differently?

BTW, anyone have a photo of the tshirts? I wanna see how they came out.

And it hasn't blown up yet either so he did a great job! I just took car in to get the AC compressor fixed. Chris you are AWESOME! seriously there is not enough ways to express my gratitude for you helping getting my car running again. The fact that you did it after helping so many other people before me just freakin' rocks. You are awesome!

There's nothing major that I can think of. The only thing that comes to mind is that the group picture could have been organized a little better, but overall it seemed to run pretty smooth. Events stuck pretty close to schedule and people were aware of what was happening when. Overall  to all the organizers.

The only thing i can quickly think of is that there were no garbage cans out in the parking lot for dirty rags / water bottles and food etc... but no big deal. :)

Other than that, what i really wanted to change, is the rate at which time passes... it all went by way too fast!
There were definitely more than a few moments that i would have given ANYTHING to just make time [i]stop/i] :(

The computers were overused - to the point that they were slowing things down, especially at the dinner line but also other times. Sometimes a printed list, sorted by last name, first name really is the way to go. Check the names off the list and enter the data into the computer later. This also means you won't be stuck if the computer dies for some reason.

But, if that's the worst thing I can complain about, then I'd say things went very, very well. :)

no qualms. I agree, time flew by so darn fast! Really glad to meet all the folks that I got the chance to meet.

we got stuck in a smoking room instead of nonsmoking, even though I specifically reserved a nonsmoking room, but that's about my only complaint.

We definitely had as much fun as we could have had, despite the problems we encountered all day Thursday and part of Friday. You can read the huge story I wrote about it here (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=neweng&Number=671600&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) if you're up for a long read. (I recommend not reading it).
That's what we get for trying out our new toy and trailering out there. to us ;)
Huge props to Paul's Trailer Shop off 465 in Indy. Great folks working there - family owned company. In the end, everything worked out and we were able to enjoy ourselves.

can't say thanks enough to all who put this together.
you all kick ass.

Big thanks also to ma pals that accompanied me to the Red Garter Friday night. It was looking like it'd just be 3 of us, but I'm glad more of you decided to tear yourselves away from the parking lot activities just for a couple hours to watch me misbehave and get lit.
Fronting the money to give ov3n his dance was so well worth it. That boy needed it after all the crap he's gone through with his car. I heart you, oven-boy :)

Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to say bye to anyone since we were in such a mad rush to pack, sleep and leave at 3 am. Thanks to those who were drinking in the halls of rooms 250+ for quieting down when I asked. Hope you enjoyed viewing a groggy kim in her jammies.

I have another one - I didn't think the girl in the bikini on the T-shirts was appropriate. In fact, I doubt I'll wear the shirt ever again because of that. Having her pulling down her bikini was an especially bad choice for a club that has a significant female membership.

Next year, stick to the Cougar alone - that's something we can all agree upon and enjoy! :)

Flames to /dev/null. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way.

could be. Judging by what I heard about the female activity each night, I'd say they didn't care either. Chicks and cars just go together like pb&j.
I don't have a problem with it.

what? the shirts are awesome...do you ever look at car magazines man?..theres a girl posing on just about every car...they just go together...same style needed next year...ignore him

the shirts need to use HER next year! :)

I don't know if it's official yet, but they want to have it in the same place again.

ND4SPD
07-27-2004, 07:24 PM
word has it that its going to be in Indy - same place, until further notice :)

and i agree 100% - i think indy is an awesome location for it. its an auto themed city to begin with, so the drag track and all are nearby, it has a perfect cruising highway. nice hotel, bigass parkinglot... the cops are awesome... at HCKC last year and CF this year, they both were super nice to our event. unlike viginia beach last fest

EricF
07-27-2004, 07:38 PM
Virginia Beach has problems period, not only cause of cougarfest, but I mean if a town has to have
cops on duty in a Golden Corral Resturant, as well as many other places... its obviously not
a nice enough town for us. Not saying the liquor store we stopped at on fri night was the greatest.
But at least the people were nice.

as hard as it is to believe, i also didn't like the shirts that much (of course that didn't stop me from buying one of every kind that don had in his room  )...don't get me wrong, half naked chicks are awesome, but cartoon half naked chicks are kinda goofy...i would have liked it if the shirt was classier, cuz i feel like a ricer wearing this one, but thats just me...

skater
07-27-2004, 08:06 PM
Really, now - would you have been disappointed with the shirts if they were the same except there was no woman on them?

At least back away from making her a **** next year... :)

i didnt like the girl on the shirts either... i am a girl- and its not like a feminsit thing- but i would rather just have it be the car considering there are alot of other girls on this board

MetallicaCougs
07-27-2004, 08:11 PM
I agree. I didn't care about the girl on there specifically, but it was the first thing noticed by a person here at work. I think next year leave it as the car or make it beefcake

Phew! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only girl who felt that way!

I appreciate the hard work and detail that went into the shirt design, but it would be nice to remember that women and children may also be wearing this shirt.

gulfcat
07-28-2004, 09:34 PM
I'd rather have just the car, but I also think that if the car does have a hood ornament, we should have 2 sets of shirts:
The guys get one with a girl with the car,
AND
We get one with a guy with the car!

Let it be known that i had nothing to do with the t-shirt design other than the idea of having all the sponsors on there.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I didn't like the girl either :cover: Did it stop me from wearing it? NO. Besides, whoever came up with this 2004 logo is GENIUS. I've seen all the logos from 99 to present and this year's was the best.

My only complaint - those crazy bugs that hovered around the lights at nite, then were all dead on the car in the morning. WTF was that all about? We had to install my center console Friday nite under the lights and I'm STILL finding dead bugs in the car.

frenchblueC2
07-29-2004, 10:00 AM
yeah those bugs were kinda weird.
The entire trip home, I had to keep shoo-ing them out the window.
Most of them danced on the windshield trying to get out that way the entire 16 hours home!!
at least they weren't mosquitos eating me alive.

COOGAH
07-29-2004, 07:59 PM
ya i didn't like the girl either.......she wasn't real enough. also i think she was a bit over-dressed.

Sorry, but I have to agree on the T-shirt issue....the small logo on the front looks real classy....then turn it around -- and you've got a bimbo with more detail put into her than the car...isn't it about the Cougar?

We heard you the first time, Don!

Still, if that's the biggest issue everyone has with CF2K4, it's pretty successful.
