Got off work tonight and was driving around. Got to playing with the rice boys, and showed them what was up. A brief summary of my kills.
94-98 Mustang V6 stock.
99-now Mustang V6 stock.
Mid 90's Lincoln Town Car. He tried racing me like 5 times, and I beat him down every time. He eventually just backed off, I guess so he wouldn't get too embarrassed cuz his girl was in his car.
93-96 Civic coupe w/exhaust and 5 foot tall wing.
97-01 Civic 4-door w/exhaust.
93-96 Civic hatchback w/ exhaust.
00-04 Focus 4-door. For some reason it kinda sounded like it had a turbo, cuz it had a whine to it when he floored it. He obviously had a 5-speed, 'cuz i could hear him spin his tires when he shifted. Smoked the hell out of him, and at the next light he said, "You got a V6 in there?" me-"Yeah." him-"Its a nice lookin car." me-"Yeah, and its an automatic, too." When I said that, he just looked away and just kinda drove off when the light turned green. I guess he couldn't stand losing to an automatic.
Some late 80's Honda, I think. I couldnt tell becasue it had so much primer on it, but it DID have a nice shiny exhaust.
Some late 80's maybe early 90's Olds Acheiva? tried to think he was bad, but I quickly put him in his place.
The only car I lost too was a 97-01 Civic 4-door, and I lost only cuz my IMRC messed up and wouldnt open my secondaries. At the next light, I was talking to him and I told him what was going on. He said he was very surprised by how slow my car was, and that he had never raced a Coug before and expected more. I told him that when I get the IMRC lubed back up, I can take him any day of the week. He said he hoped he saw me after i got it fixed, cuz he wanted to see how fast it REALLY was. I hope for the same.
And just to let all you "Street racers are the dumbest people on earth" people, I never once got above 75 mph. And I also did all this at around 11:30 at night, so really only the racers were on the street anyway. As soon as I was convinced the other car wouldnt catch up, I slowed right down to 55 mph.

My friends zx2 kind of sounds like it has a turbo whine to it, but it's just his intake. I remember when i helped him install his hotshot, the air filter had some weird metal thing in it. Kind of like that gay tornado thing, but it wasn't that. I'm assuming it was for noise or to "smooth" the airflow.

Yeah, that has to be what it was. I just really think it was funny how he got pissed off when I told him I had an ATX, and he had a MTX, and still got smoked.
I am still incredibly surprised that I beat the Mustangs. When I pulled up next to the first one, the 94-98, I figured he would win, since they have the 4.0 V6, not the 3L or 2.5. But when I pulled away from him, I started to realize I was gonna beat him. The same went for the 99-04 Mustang. I am going to get my IMRC fixed today, so that Civic wont be able to beat me again.

No Mustang has had a 4.0 V-6. They had 3.8's from '94 to current, then will receive the 3.0 in the new for '05. the '94 to '98 Mustangs are pretty doggy if they have an auto so I'm not surprised you took it, I've never been in one that had a manual. The '99 up are much better though, and I've only been around 5-speeds so I have no idea how they are with an auto.
Have fun and be safe.

Yeah, it was Friday night on a Phoenix street that is used my a lot of people to get from one side of PHX to the other. By the time I was out, only the riceburners were out, and there were a lot of them. Most of them were people just out driving around, doing nothing. The other oddball cars that tried racing me were people thinking that since it was a Mercury, it was pretty slow. Uh, I think they now think otherwise. Like I said, I only did it when I had clear road ahead, and I slowed down when I felt confident that I had proven myself. The cool thing is that most of the riceboys feel te same way about doing street racing as safely as possible. They dont need to hit 110 mph to satisfy themselves. Myself, I get a bigger rush out of the acceleration than the speed. I just love being thrown back into my seat and hearing my kitty roar (even on stock exhaust). I cant wait until I put cat-back w/test pipe. I think some of those riceboys will crap their pants when They hear me hit 6500 rpm's on the cat-less duals.

I guess a kill is a kill, even if they have only 90 crank horsepower...

I wouldn't even want to go 110 mph in most of the cars you listed.

I know its probably a stupid question, but how would u know if your secondaries are working, can u explain to me what could be some things that would tell u if they r working and some things that tell u if they r not working.
Thanx.

When you accelerate, you should feel a big pull around 3500-4000 rpm's. That is the secondaries opening. If you have ever driven a 4-barrel carb'ed car or truck, you will know what im talking about. Sometimes, if the secondary gears havent been lubed up in a while, when the car warms up, they wont open. It will accelerate fine until you hit this rpm, then it will feel like the car is just dragging. It will take FOREVER to get to 60 mph, even though you have the pedal to the floor. This is a reasonably simple fix. Do a search in either the how-to or problem section, and you will find the instructions, i think. If not, mycat should be able to send them to you. He helped me do mine a few days ago, and it seemed to work. Hope I helped you understand it better.

Thanx alot man, that sounds like what happened to me one nite when i had a run with sum civic hatchback and i was about 2 car lengths infront of him but at about 90-100 km/h my car felt like it had no more b*lls b/cuz it felt like that was it and it wouldnt go faster, do u think it could of been that the secondries wouldnt open. anyways its an auto if that makes a difference when it comes to the secondaries opening.
Thanx.

In North Carolina, it seems like the cars u would least expect to race u do...the ones u want to race are to scared of I dont know what. Well this past weekend I went to miami to visit my home town and OMG, does it seem like everybody in their mothers go 80 and over. I was on i95 south racing....well let me rephrase that, trying to keep up with to bikes and it seemed like I was not the only one. Here we are going 90 plus in traffic cutting ppl off left and right and there are like 3 - 5 other cars doign the same behind me....and in my passanger side williec who came with me going crazy cuz of it all. it was funny but u can askwillie, it was fun. Everytime we got on 95. Some one was ready to take it to ya. I wish he video taped it but we only got some of the footage. Plus we got some hot cars that was down there as well. pics will be up soon.

an MTX v6 can... :wiggle:
a ATX is more like a gentle push... like when someone puts their hand gently on your back and "guides you" which way to go

Yeah, its not gonna push you thru your seat, but it does feel good. At the elevation Im at, I also get a lot more air going thru the intake, which obviously makes more power. I cant wait until I get exhaust and make it louder and free up more power.

heh, if you think that will be good, just wait till you get HEADERS! :)
the intake and exhaust is just kiddy stuff until you get into Headers - maybe a CAI too
