shifter question

took apart my dash and my pop "helped" me by taking out the center counsel but didn't need to

well now im trying to put it back in and every time i put the shifter together i lose the reverse block thing.....

I didnt take it apart so i dont know how to put it together...lol.......does the rubber thing in the spring make a difference in were it is located?...any response would be welcome <B>

umm lost me on this one. With my car the spring sits on top the boot shouldnt loose anything .... just put the reverse lock part on the shifter slide that down with the boot and put the spring on top the boot and then the knob? i think....

thank but i figured it out.........the bottom plastic piece with the four notch's was'nt positioned properly.....dumb question easy fix....lol
