I know this is a read but please try to help!!!
Old school cougar owner. Had it for 100k. Was having problems and thought it was the transmission. Shop, which was close, not a tranny shop, said that the Tranny had broken from the engine at the Torque Converter and that it picked up the engine and broke the engine mounts. Even if thats true... does the transmission need to be replaced or is it just the converter and the mounts. I will take ANY advice on what to do. He said it would be over 4000 and that I shouldnt fix it. He also said that he would buy it from me so Im thinking he may just want to turn profit. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do and does anyone know what ballpark is on the converter with labor? Is there a good place in Socal that I can get it worked on? Thanks!!!
