Just got off the phone with SPMotorsports. They didnt have any Spax struts so I opted for the slightly more expensive BAT Euro-struts. Supposedly they are the best option short of KONIs for our cars. I dunno, but I'll find out soon enough. Total should be about $412 shipped so they are basically right between the cost of crappy factory struts and the ultra-expensive Koni. I am guessing that they will ship within a day and should have them by mid-week next week...depending where SP is located. Florida??? I'll post my findings and some pics when I get them. Maybe I can get Diane to do a series of photos for the mod meet so some of you have a step by step guide.

They are not the ST200 struts...but I cant say 100% sure. They guy mentioned they were specially valved euro units and high quality but I dont think they are the same. Prolly similar though. I could have gotten the KONI struts but with 104,000 miles I dont see the point. Also, I have either/ or/ both a CV joint issue on the right side / steering pump and/or rack issues. So basically the $200 plus I saved will likely go towards some other repairs. Gonna get it all checked out once the new struts and brakes are on for a week or so.

Sled, I definitely want to know what you think of the BAT struts once you've had the chance to test drive them a bit.

I've been tempted by the BAT "Euro handling kit" or whatever it is they call it, with their 1" lowering sport springs combined with those struts. Maybe those struts and Eibachs. Don't know. Won't be anytime soon though... :-/

If you need a hand, depending on when you do them, I'm game to help out.

I have heard several ENTHUSIASTIC GLOWING TESTIMONIALS on the BAT Euro Handling kit. Once I go suspension-swapping, that's definitely how I'm doing it.

Bat Euro struts sound like they would be the ST200 style struts. If they, the rock that what I got on mine and they hold up to the ground controls. If they are not, hey no loss I am sure they are great. Check www.batinc.net and look up the struts http://65.109.103.142/files/contour.PDF page 13 $99 each.
