Who are the diehards traveling the furthest. I'm still thinking if i'm going to go or not. lot's of highway driving which means lots of 18 wheelers which equals rocks, chips, dings,BUG splatter ect. I would be traveling about 389.5 miles which is 6 hours 43 minutes according to yahoo maps.Which is not really that bad i'm sure, compared to alot of you.

I have a little over 15 hours. We did that last year to Virginia though. We learned to leave earlier and prepare for delays.

Greg2000, 6 hours flies by really fast. If you go in a caravan you will wish the ride was a little longer. Despite one of our caravan members breaking down, we had alot of fun blocking for cars, goofing around on the radio and watching the other people on the road stare at the line of cougars flying down the highway!

You could get a car bra just for the trip down/back. I know you may not like the look of it but it will help save the paint for the trip. Also im pretty sure they have some kind of clear film available that you can put on the car and you cant even tell its there and that is supposed to help prevent chips and things like that.

gldgremlin covered his front bumper, leading edge of his hood and his side mirrors in painters tape to avoid rock chips. Seemed to work pretty good.

I'm 260 miles away, about a 3.5 - 4 hour drive.

I believe you're talking about the 3M Scotchguard Paint Protection Film...

Very good stuff, and used on all of our show vehicles. Its invisible, and cheaper than 20 layers of clearcoat. =)

MapQuest says Total Est. Distance: 1150.65 miles, Total Est. Time: 18 hours, 39 minutes
Expedia says (after it demanded an address, I put in the track's): Total Route 1226 mi 19 hrs 46 mins

However, I really want to detour to drive the Tail of the Dragon (http://www.tailofthedragon.com), at Deal's Gap, NC. That would mean enough extra time to need an overnight stop, so I'll probably take longer than those estimates....

Is someone putting together a map? It'd be cool to have a map of the US and Canada with pushpins showing where everyone came from...

Anyone that comes from Europe will, of course, have to be represented by a pushpin in the ocean... ;)

There is something unnerving about "death" being present at cougarfest...

That doesn't count though, since you're choosing to make your trip longer! I could totally make my trip longer too if I want to drive to SoCal, to caravan with you up to NorCal then to Cougarfest
