I making a fiberglass box for one 12" sub and i estimated that the box is about 1.80 cubic feet
I have a Eclipse aluimun DVC sub and ws wondering how much the box will affect the performance?
Is that too big and what could i do you fill it up??

Do you have all the specs on that particular sub? And to fill a box, you would use poly fill, or cotton filler. Then there are also foam wave formers that line the inside of the box to kill standing waves. Or to lessen the internal volume you could add 3/4'' MDF dividers to as well strenghten the box.
The dividers wont really divide the single sub...just so no one goes on about you having that 1 sub- just mainly adding filler and bracing.

the easiest way to find out if its too big or not is to either look in whatever booklet that came with speaker, get online and go to sight, or go to whatever sound shop ...and for the lazy..heres their web addy to go and read http://www.eclipse-web.com/index_speaker.html

i dont think you want to put any poly or cotton fil the box that big...main reason for the fill is to trick the sub into thinking it is in a bigger box...helps a bit with the standing waves as well...
is the box sealed?? if it is it more then likely too big...but you may be able to turn it into a vented or ported box and get far better performance out of it..(from that box)
Check the specs on your sub and through it through a box calculator...that is the first place to start now..

Actually Rio...its built Spec to the JL 12w7...exact...and OMG you would never think it was just one sub back there.....I have blown peoples mind for them to hear my system and then show em its just the single 12....ohh btw.. I am using MBQuart 6x8 reference series components all the way through with the 450/4 slash series on them...
