I don't have much experience with the MTX-75
but when I installed my truck tranny it wouldn't go into 1st
or reverse. But that was because the forks were in between two gears.
I don't know if this is possible with our tranny though.
sorry Jeff that's all I got for ya.

Good to hear. I wouldn't wish the job of replacing shifter cables on my WORST ENEMY - let alone the thought of a transmission replacement.

Hey Andy do you remember if you had 2 or 4 screws holding down the shifter assembly.
Any of you MTX owners may want to check these screws, it's really easy just pull up on your shifter boot and it pops right up and look for those gold colored torx bit screws. I bought 2 more screws and put them in there.

Hmm...don't remember for sure, but I'm thinking I only have 2. However, I think the 2000's had a re-designed retainer bracket that only used 2, instead of 4.
Again, I'm just going on fuzzy memory...
I have a 2000 and when I pulled my cover to check for Jeff yesterday, low and behold I have 4 screws! Looks like some of you just got a dumbass screw installer at the factory...
