you can get the 2 part epoxy stuff at home depot, lowes..even walmart.

it comes in a surenge looking thing and you push the plunger and it distributes equal amounts of the 2 parts....you mix those two parts together on a piece of cardboard or something and apply it to the plastic welds. then clamp it down tight with some furniture clamps. or c-clamps with little pieces of 1x4 to distribute the weight a little more evenly.

the new insert needs to be about the same thickness as the old one.. if it doesn't lay right it's gonna look like poop.. would this new piece be an overlay on the existing piece or a full new replacement?

Contact cement is about the best option.. you basically spread it on both pieces let it stand for about 10 minutes then press the 2 together and use clamps... it works great

superglue.. no - you really need a 2 part glue or a cohesive glue (when you need to apply to both portions - then allow to set up)

2 part epoxy is good, but I used something else when I did mine that I use just about everywhere I need adhesion in the car.

Automotive Goop

This is the best stuff ever invented in my opinion. Just squeeze a little out on whatever you want bonded and walk away. Come back about 2 hours later and you'll NEVER be able to separate the bond. It's also waterproof and it's a thick jelletin so it'll slowly ooze into cracks or wholes you want to fill up which is awesome. I used this to re-bond the drilled out welds when I did my doors. Worked perfect as always.

I also have some pics from when I did my doors this past winter with all my other winter mods.

What do you mean
the only thing u did was break the weld taps, and then cover them up with that Automotive Goop ??

I broke the weld taps, vinyled my door inserts with blue vinyl and then used the goop to bond the welds to the plastic on the door from the backside when I put the inserts back into the door panels.

i was saying that it was just like that,, u broke the tabs and when u had everything ready to put back on, u placed it in place and then covered the broken tabs with automotive goop...

i was trying to make a short statement when i said "the only thing u did was break the weld taps, and then cover them up with that Automotive Goop"

also where do u get the goop from

"Goop" homepage (http://eclecticproducts.com/goop/home.asp)

Specifically Automotive Goop (http://eclecticproducts.com/goop/ad_automotive.asp)

You can get this at just about any hardware store or at a Murrays / Pep Boys, etc...

Read above carefully "Automotive Goop".

Just squeeze it on and push them together. I often like to put a little bit of tape over the area too until it cures to ensure it doesn't move or the goop doesn't ooze out where it shouldn't.
