I am looking for a pair of Racing seat Brackets. Let me know where I can find them or get them from someone.

Thanks

PM RacerX about the seat brackets, I believe he has made them for people. I do not believe any company makes them for 99+ cougars, and they need to be custom made.

Wedge engineering makes them for the contour and they will fit our cars. I dont know the cost of them though. And yes, I can make them as I have done for a few people in here...

I have custom made RacerX brackets... they fit perfectly...

I fabricated my own brackets (for use with the stock slider assemblies - even allowed me to keep the dirver's side power seat functions!)...

REALLY easy and inexpensive (about $20)!

How did you go about doing that. I know that Nopi sells brackets for our cars but they will only fit certain seats but I am sure I can modify it to work with the seats that I have. The only bad thing is that they are running $89 each.

I took the slider assemblies off the stock seats, then went down a metals wholesaler and had them cut me some steel plates. I drilled holes in the plates corresponding to the holes in the stock sliders and bolted the plates onto the top of the sliders. Then (after taking the plates back off the sliders) I drilled holes in the plates corresponding to the holes in the aftermarket seats. I bolted the seats to the plates and then bolted the plates back to the sliders.

Cost me less than $20 for the steel plates and an afternoon of my time!

I know corbeau sales them for their seats to fit the cougar...you may check with them to see if they will fit another seat....find out if they produce their own or what.

yep, im using Corbeau brackets... they make them for the "Contour" but they fit the cougar too (with some modification - i.e. the holes on the base had to be drilled bigger, but that was it)

they actaully have them listed for the Cougar....I dont know if its same bracket or not but they do have it listed for a cougar.

oh! it might very well be the same one... i mean, the holes almost lined up perfectly, so i can't see them making new ones (it was that close)

but thats cool :)
