I would like to do a dvd player/lcd deal for my car. I foundthis (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50563&item=3089583040&rd=1) on ebay. It is so cheap! Has anybody had any experience with these? I know it isnt the best brand....but there is such a huge price difference. Also if I get this, could I set the dvd player up in the glove box and still use my current headunit? Help???

so you want to use this just for the screen? there is cheaper ways to go
would be kind of weird lookin with a flip out screen in your glove box if you ask me
i don't know why you'd want to keep your regular cd player if you got this.. you could sell your cd player to help pay for this
but to answer your question.. it's possible
a lot of cd players have an option for auxillary input
you could just run an rca from this flip out screen to your regular head unit most likely
depends upon your cd player
if you can't.. there's still a way to do it
as far as there being a difference between this and a more reliable brand.. i'd say yeah.. there probably is quite a bit of a difference
make sure you ask about a warranty

First off, thats a package deal. The screen and Head unit are 2 seperate units. So you could put your DVD player in your glove box and have your screen in dash. However, you failed to mention what your current receiver is. The screen plus a HU will not fit correctly in the stock radio section. They'd be too tall. So you have a couple of choices. You can eliminate your current unit and just use the new one when it comes in(probably best bet). Or you can relocate your current unit somewhere else (ie. Ashtray section or HVAC section). Another thing is to see if you can find out if the screen will clear your HVAC controls. By the pictures you can't really tell. But it doesn't look promising. For help on fitment issues for the screen you could try PMing RedDragon the model number and see if he can confirm it for you.(RedDragon sells Pyle equipment)
Good Luck!

Well right now I have one of those kenwood exceleon flip down head units like Crispy has.
I was thinking about getting this screen (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2472113968&category=38650) and then cutting out my dash and then put that flipout lcd there but then put the piece that I cut out of the top of the lcd so when it goes back in it would look flush.

I'm still not understanding the need for 2 HU's?? Is it just something you want to do? I mean if you have the cash to splash, then go for it..I just don't see it. Not knocking your idea, just trying to understand:biggrin:. Yeah you could do it that way as well. Is your Kenwood exactly like crispys? Like same model and all?

I am not going to get the deal in my first post. I am going to get a screen and then just a dvd player to throw in my glovebox, maybe ill just put my ps2 there. I am not sure exactally what she has but this is my headunit, I forget the model number because I threw the box away.

I think your new decision is better :)
Just get a screen. You can put your ps2 in the glove box and use the aux inputs on your deck. That sounds like a plan. :)

How well do you think this dash idea will work? I guess I'd have to dremel out that piece? At first I would def take that panel off and gut the buttons and relocate the rear defroster button. Do you have any idea if the unit will fit in that area?
