Well, here is all my pics from the mod meet. Thanks goes to Ian and anybody else that took some of the pics for me. I'm not going inline them cause it's a pain in the ass and it'll make it easier on people with 56k to load this post. Anyways, enjoy!

Thanks for thinking of us with 56K dial up! But I will admit that I won't actually look at the pics until tomorrow, er, later today... ;) CD101 Day and Phantom Plant + The Thrillers + Stellastarr* + three other bands + Blue Moon draft + Guiness bottles + friends == Good Time, and I must go to sleep :)
Happy Easter. Remember the reason for the season.

Ride home was great, if not extrememly quiet...boy do i really need to get the rest of my stereo... I babied the brakes all the way home cause of them being brand new and they're still being broke in. We didn't get the old front rotors off till mid afternoon on friday. After that it was just waiting till the paint dried so we could put the car back together. So in the mean time i finished the wiring to my side markers.

See this pic. (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/jmm16%2EJPG)
We rested a propane heater on something and John sat down and turned the rotor while it was heating up for about 20 mins. When the rotor was good and hot we tried to beat it some more. When it didn't move i got to feeling around and realized the spindle hub was just as hot as the rotor. For those that don't know, a small metallurgy lesson, when heat is applied to metal, it will expand, apply cold to metal and it will shrink. When we heated the rotor the hole that goes around the hub will expand giving us a larger tolerance to slip the rotor off. But when the hub got hot it expanded just as much as the rotor which just completely negates the whole point of heating the rotor. So, knowing that, i had John get me a cup of cold water and i poured it on the spindle hub and tried to keep as much of it as i could from touching the rotor. I wanted to cool the hub, not the rotor. After cooling the hub down some i took another swing or two and immediately the rotor finally broke loose. After some more tapping and turning it finally fell off.
I wasn't in my "booth" long enough to get a buzz.

Probably not...i guess we'll find out if they're [censored]ed up if they start to cause problems. Dad said something about my alignment might be messed up a bit from all the pounding. Anybody else think i should get an alignment done?
Anyways, i just got home from a movie and thought it to be the perfect time to get pics of the sidemarkers. Enjoy.

you and your car suck :) , you wanna race a real car? Pick a time and a place and we'll go at it. I say Norwalk Raceway, or are you too chicken? ;)
Or perhaps you would have your Step-dad do it for you (lol). Or maybe you could just try to build a better sound system than me, but I really don't think so.
BTW "B" I got your email and have to say the cars come a ways since East Harbor man, Oh, and I finally got the GT, so the real fun has begun. give me a time and a place and we'll hook up. later.

Did I miss something here? Hopefully that last post was jokingly posted?? :stupid: And just so you know, I m sure theres a few members on here that would be more then willing to race, no matter what the car... If you really wanna race, talk to Gyger from Cleveland he ll be more then up for it. Heck, Id probably even give it a run, especially after finishing off the headers and preparing to order a new chip among some other things....
Hope things work out for ya:)

LMFAO:rofl:
Lol, yeah, it was a joke...sorta. That's a friend of mine, Andy. Back before i found neco i was in a car club that he hosted. It's not around anymore though. Lack of interest and free time from the other members. The last "meet" we schedualed was at East Harbor and Andy and i was the only ones that showed up. At the time i don't think i had anything done to the car, not even a stereo upgrade. I think all i did was fix a couple busted letters on the trunk. So we hung out, ate a few burgers and whatnot.
Heh, hell yeah Andy, i'll meet ya. Anytime, anywhere! you-> :slap: <-me

Hey brian, thought that might break the ice around here (lol).
Just to clear up for everyone I'm a sound guy when it comes to domestic cars, how can one improve on perfection! I don't like to do much, performance wise, to my American sweethearts. Buuuuutttt, if you do want to race sometime, I'll be more than happy to hand some a$$ when the VW is finished (hints, Porsche power, and, the faint whine of a jet engine?!?!?! ;) ). I'll need about another year to get her finished though, it's a labor of love, you see, and as such the precious must be perfect.
Brian, When are you planning another one of those "mod meets" and are outsiders welcome, even (gasp) J-bodies!!!! Oh and I've got my eye on a W41 quad out of an Olds 442 for about $3k factory new (190 hp stock!)
I've gone high end now on the audio everything is Infinity Kappa or Perfect and all is their flagship stuff. I went with JBL amps due to the Infinity Rep recommending them. just have to finish the install and she's good to go. I'd do the pic thing, but the digital has gone up in smoke, literally.
I'll send you my # via email, asap.
To Everyone else, HELLO!! I come in peace.

Oh, I forgot to mention in my last reply, I got my garage about 90% done (still missing the lift and paint room), but If you want to hang at the garage sometime let me know. As soon as I get the $$$ I'm getting my body kit and maybe some rims (I kinda like the stockers, but have my eye on some 17's).
Yes everyone, flame... I own a 1995 Sunfire GT, the last of the OBD1 models. There are no engine mods, except to replace with the HO model (190hp stock, $3k, 8000 rpm redline), so she'll look cool for now.

Sweet man, i definately want to check out that system when you get it all in and running.
I'm pretty sure nobody would object to having an outsider come to the meets. An extra pair of hands can't hurt sometimes. There were a couple non-cougars at John's (madcat) meet a couple weeks ago. But then again i'm not sure how everybody feels about it. Though i don't think they mind.
I'm just starting to finish up on most of my stereo components. At least all the major things. At the moment i have:
Pioneer Premier DEX-P9 head unit
Pioneer Premier DEQ-P9 Reference Series Digital Signal Processor with Optical Digital Input
4 Pioneer 6X8 240W max 4-way speakers
Already installed:
2 Rockford Fosgate 12" HE2 subs
Rockford Fosgate 801S 2-channel amp
1 Farad Monster Cable Capacitor
I still need to buy some amps to power my 6X8's. Don't know what i'm going to get yet.
And yes, i'm driving around with no stereo right now. Just a hole...
Edit: Wait a second...
(still missing the lift and paint room)
If you install these things i might just have to start coming to your house more often:biggrin:

not a bad system here's mine...
Infinity Kappa 4x6 component plates in the doors (3.75" ceramic metal matrix diaphram midrange - 1" titanium tweeter)
Infinity Kappa 6x9 two way's (6.5x9.5 actual size c.m.m.d. cone - 1" 360* rotation titanium tweeter)
Infinity Perfect 12d VQ 12" Subwoofer (magnesium metal matrix cone, 400 watts rms 1600 max)
JBL 300.1 powervalve amp ( 300 watts rms @ 2 ohms @ 12.5 volts 1200 watts max est.)
JBL 80.4 powervalve amp (80 x 4 @ 4 ohms @ 12.5 volts 320 max est.)
Being saved for (almost enough now)...
Pioneer Premier Deh-960mp cd/mp3/wma player (<--- so fatass ;) )
The Infinity 12 is in a specially designed and built variation of Decware's "Wicked One" horn loaded - bandpass enclosure.

Kool, glad that wasnt harsh like I thought it was. Glad to have another member. Heck yeah you are more then welcome at our meets anytime. My friend has a 96 Sunfire GT and comes to them, although his DUI kinda put a dampener on that driving thing lol.
Yeah my system is being improved largely right now, actually I m in the computer lab looking up new headunits until I head to China and pick up a few that arent avaliable in the states so I can have one of the only ones in a Cougar of that make and model. Kinda pays going over there for classes and being able to get limited productions things while I m there....
Boston 6.5 Components in the doors, probably go with the same in the rears, no idea on the amp(actually I need to buy a new sub amp too) the profile Ive had forever just isnt cutting it this season, although its not as terrible as I thought ited be when I bought it..... JL12W3V2, and as for the headunit for filling until the trip to China I m thinking the pannasonic CQ-C5410U??? Found it at a great price so I think I ll pick one of those up, for 2 months of use then resell it.
Glad to have another member and when you get your lift in I think you ll be my best friend.!!

Well, it's not in yet (the lift or the paint booth), but we're working on it, we're deciding on which model(s) and getting the pricing still. We even have the placement marks on the concrete. My Dad wants to get the walls and ceiling finished first. I still have the 7 car garage to use for pretty much whatever (currently for the 5 Vw's that we store and are rebuilding).
I can bring over other people, but, I must stress that by the end of each day the car being worked on MUST be able to make it home (unless it's mine ;) ) due to the thing that my dad doesn't want to be responsible for someone else's car. I don't live with my parents, but I have access to the garage at just about any time. We do have an Air Compressor, Mig Welder, a full compliment of Air tools, and quite a few body tools, just to name a few.
Since I can't seem to get any J-body guys to commit to hanging out and doing something, I'm looking into the other car groups. Being as the domestic cars still have a tough time with the imports, I'm going to the other domestics, like you guys.

Aw damn, too bad your dad wouldn't let me use one of those spaces during the winter. I need to find a place to store my car and do winter mods. I can definately see why he doesn't want to be responsible for other's cars. I could sign a waiver? Lol
