...from a roll.
I was following a guy in a ~2000 GTP, and he was behind another, slower driver. So we get to a cross-street, where we both happened to be turning the same way. The slow motorist went straight through, so the guy in the GTP goes through the right turn, and so do I. As soon as we get straightened out, he dropped the hammer (from about a 25mph roll), and so as soon as I realized it was on, so did I. He had about 3 cars on me by the time I took off, but I stayed on it, and kept exactly at that 3-car space up to about 80, where we both cut it off for traffic.
So it was cool. He turned off before I did, and he was checking the Coug out as I drove by him.
Not nearly the painful butt-rape that I would have expected, I guess because we hit it from a roll. Don't get me wrong, I was giving it almost everything I had, winding up to about 6250 with each shift. But I was pretty pleased that the guy didn't totally dust me.
Woohoo!

GTPs are pretty quick, they got a lot of torque. Plus there's some nice performance mods for it that can easily get them up to 300hp+.

No doubt. The GTP is SERIOUSLY in the running for my next car. I love those things. If they offered one with the 6-speed tranny, I'd have one NOW.

ahw, no love?
:) what wrong with a pontiac?? biiaaa!
Nah, just kiddin. 99+ gtps are a tad quicker, 97-98 have terrible TBs and the motor is built a tad sloppy. Try running one from a roll. I ran Chris (ttyger) from a 40-50mph roll and I barely pulled on him stock. I don't think i did pull on him. Anywho, we have loooong ass gears and torque falls off after 4000-5000 depending on ambient temps.
try racing one in summer heat, youll hang alot easier if the car is stock.
another thing, most people who have gtps that have stickers on them, yeah, they're idiots. ones that look stock...yeah...they arent.
nice death,kill, kill death,

We should go again now my cars fixed dude. I don't remember what it was stock, but it was a hellava lot better than that one night. Few cars lengths... blah. Actually, now that i think about it.... i did do a lot better when you were stock... errr..... i give up...... back to Edgewater!!!

L67 maybe before it gets to hot out we could race.
I'm in Ohio too I'd like to see how my car fairs against a
lightly modded GTP.
Plus I know Tygerr doesn't believe the Ohio NECO members actually exsist:rofl:
we could video tape it too I have a nice little vid cam
