How do I get my Zetec to go over 110 without getting a chip??

Don't think you can. Supposedly there is some mod you can do to put a switch inline with the vehicle speed sensor so you could keep the ECU from seeing you go past the limiter but that would also cut your speedo out so you wouldn't know how fast you were going anyway.
I believe Greddy or Apexi has some kind of device like the AFC but for the speed limiter but I don't know of anybody that has one on a ford, ultimatley a chip will wind up costing the same as that so that's the way to go.

mine is a bone stock 2001 MTX Zetec....i hit 110 and it feels like the car just is not getting any more gas.....almost like the rev limiter...and i know it isn't my fuel pump....it is new....and it has done this since the car was new!

i have a weapon R short ram intake, and thats about it. Kumho H rated tires with ICW Split 6 rims. its not too bad I don't think, my launches coulda been a little bit better. that day at the track I beat a saturn Ion, a v-6 MTX chevy malibu, and a V-6 ATX cougar just to give u some kind of comparison. while im in college im lookin to do some major engine work since my warranty will be coming up shortly.
my goal is by the end of my sophomore year is to have 200 HP to the wheels. im lookin at cams, cam gears, pulleys, full CAI, exhuast, 55 shot Zex and tuning.

yeah, those times are pretty much stock, maybe add like .1 or .2 seconds maybe w/o the intake? somewhere along those lines, but yup, there it is.

there are 3 reasons why we know you are lying. 1) you have an automatic 4 banger. so the gearing more than likely will not get you that high even if you had a chip remove the limiter. even if you had a manual we wouldn't believe you. 2)there has not been one stock cougar, v-6 or i4 that has gotten that fast, why? because the limiter cuts em off at either 115 or 135. some four bangers have gotten close to 135, such as myself, but that is prolly on a downhill slope. and that was pushing the car at its extreme limits. 3) you're a n00b. nuff said

the i4 cougar does not have enough power to go that fast (period)
(side note: i don't know that my current car would go that fast even)

it could have enough power, but the tranny isnt set to go that fast.

a CSVT tops out a 143 because its drag limited
the thing holding your car back the most would be its aerodynamics, without some seriousbody mods...Its simply not gonna go any faster no matter how much power you have
also, the stock speedo is not very accurate after 100 anyway.
