before the heads/cams i was getting 15.5@92mph with 2.4 60ft at a low elevation track (not sea level). at a 2700ft elevation track i was getting 15.8@87-88 with 2.4 60ft.
i went to the 2700ft elevation track last night. best time was 15.6@89moh with a 2.4 60ft.
then the last run of the night i hit the shifts precisely but i launched bad. resulted in a 15.7@92mph with a 2.560ft. if my launch was a lil better this could have been a 15.5 at a whopping 2700ft elevation. but on this run i hit the limiter in third i dont know if it was before the end, right at the end, or after the end but this is what got me the 92. most of the day i was reaching top of third without being close to hitting the limiter. so this was unexpected, im gonna have to learn to shift into 4th right before the end.
the track gives you an altitude correction to use on your et's (this calculation is only for this track at 2710ft above sea level)
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level.
this calculation puts me at 15.0-15.1@94mph with a 2.4 60ft. but this is ricer math so i wont claim those numbers till i get to the lower elevation track. so with a 2.2-2.3 60fts i should be dipping into 14's at least low 15's.
things i learned from last night was my shift points. i was short shifting most of the night in fear of smacking into the rev limiter (7400rpm) and the tach being slow. but to my surprise the tach is more accurate than i thought. on the last run when i got 92mph i had nothing to lose so i concentrated on shifting at 7300rpm as best i could and this resulted in my fastest run.
i also kept the tire pressure at 41 in the front because i didnt have a tire pressure gauge and a compressor to fill it back up. this track is 90 miles away from home so i kinda wanted to drive back safely.
the lower elevation track is open just about every weekend in the summer and i am hoping to have had some tuning done before i run again. ill also come prepared with a tire pressure gauge and compressor so i can mess around with what pressure works best. so im hopin for a 14's the next time around.
