you have 2 horses ove my stock engine but look at your toque which is really good. Mine was 112 stock and yours is pretty good. I want to get mine dynoed with exhaust and intake.

i read that the zetech were 125 hp stock form the dealer.
Is it true?
just wondering cause at the dyno shop they told me 135 at the fly wheel. thats a pretty decent gain?????
did I gain more that 5hp. Now the focus for the same year came with 130 hp direct.

Estimated flywheel numbers are just that, estimates. However the stock intake sucks so I'm sure you'd gain a few hp with a good intake.
Yeah, stock our zetecs are rated at around 125 crank hp but there's a lot of play in the cams from the factory so some cars dyno higher than others. You probably had a decent cam timing stock, so you're lucky. Though, those numbers look average for that mods IMHO. And taking into account 18% drivetrain loss, you have around 130 crank hp so that sounds right for just an intake. Don't mean to burst your bubble. Add UDP, at least an intake cam gear, good header and exhaust you'd be at least 130 Wheel HP. Or add a turbo and get between 50-100hp&tq more.
And the Focus has a better intake pipe and exhaust manifold than ours, so that will account for the extra 5hp Foci get over ours. Sad to say that a stock Focus intake pipe would be an upgrade for our engines.

for contours I know that pre98s come with 125HP/130TQ and 98+ come with 130HP/130TQ so if you're at 135HP thats not too bad
5HP from just an intake? I'd be happy...

is your setup atx or manual.

Mine is manual. What do you mean? I dynoed completely stock and you dynoed with an intake. I had 110hp and 112 tq. Which is pretty damn good for a car rated at 125/130.
I was commenting that with an intake you gained 2 hp and 5 torque over my stock engine. I now have intake and exhaust and I want to see what Ive gained. Also if I had an auto. both numbers would be sub-100.
I think you misunderstood my post.

oh your taking about the first run which we did in fourth gear ha ...that one the power curve was all over the place. the susequent runs were run in third and the power curve was more consistant. with 118.5 and 119.4 (tourqe). It just kept getting better as the engine warmed up. I beleive the hp for the runs 111.4 /111.6 / 114.8 as i said ,as the engine bay got hotter the intake just performed better.
next step is an exhaust set up.
better resouliton dyno pics (http://pythagoras.1colony.com/photo.html/)

so you think i probably have under 100hp? i have an ATX with intake and exhaust, so i might have 100hp at the wheels??

pythagoras - This has been bugging me for a few day, so I've got to say something.
I'm confused by your sig, man. It says 140FWHP - but the dyno runs you posted show less than that. ??? Was there another set of runs that netted you more HP at the front wheels?
BTW, it's "Zetec," not Zetch or Zetech
EDIT: I think I just figured it out. By FWHP, you meant "FlyWheel HorsePower," didn't you? Usually, when I've seen FWHP, it refers to Front Wheel HorsePower. That's why I got confused. You might want to change it to read 140 HP. Or not. I seem to be the only one confused by it. :)

Not sure, get it dynoed! I know Focuses with atx have to do some hardcore modding to get any power.

i always think fwhp as front wheel horsepower
since nobody ever seems to pay attention to flywheel hp anymore
