Ok all you midwesterners, listen up! As you all are aware, there is a meeting in Ames, Iowa for the weekend of the 24th! We (amesblackcat and I) would like your inputs on what you guys would like to do for the time that we are together... please keep all posts realistic and on topic.
Also, we need to know what you guys would like to have cooked on the grill! We were thinking of Brats and burgers, but we are open to suggestions.

I think I am comin early as in the night before the meet... I'll eat anything.. if you want to make hamburgers I can bring some authentic Wisconsin cheese for em if requested...
let me know if you want me to make something to pass - I make a mean Beer Dip or ho-made Salsa...

And, for those of you who have forgotten (or haven't seen yet), info about the meet is here (LINK) (http://www.amesthundercats.com/Ames.html). As the amesthundercats are newer to NECO, any suggestions would be appreciated. :) We do still have some space available, bring sleeping bags, but let us know what you need. The rest of the info about the meet is in this thread (Another Link) (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=89&threadid=93654). Hope to see you there!!

guys, I wouldn't worry about it to much. The 2 meets I've been to were pretty informal. The first we brought our own food, went to the store and all chipped in for supplies and went from there.
Since so many are coming from out of town it would be nice to have someone just pick up all the stuck and everyone that eats chip in $5 or whatever so your costs are covered.
My plans have changed slightly. That Saturday is Jen's Mom's B-day. Typically in the past they have taken her out to dinner. So I might be leaving at some point to do that but I would come back for any night time festivities
I'd like to know what mods everyone is doing. I have dynomat that has sat in my room for over a year that needs installed. I also have a cap that I'd like to put in.
Crispy

I'm bringin another mod as well that I think Brant is going to help me with.. not sure yet on when I am arriving.. be it Friday night or Saturday morning but as it stands I will be there forsure.

jeez, your just as bad as Jen making up her mind. lol
The exit Wendy will want to get off on if she's going to meet us in DSM is exit 136. S.E. 14th Street at the QT. Can't miss it. Huge sign.
Anyways, Jen and I will definatly be there. We are taking her mom out to dinner for her b-day so we will have to leave about 6 pm. If anything is going on later we may meet back up with everyone. just play it by ear for right now.
Still doing valve cover's Chris?
Crispy
04-15-2004, 04:28 PM
Yup - Valve Covers and my Oil Pressure Gauge... it's been in the car and not hooked up for almost 2 years now.. sheesh..
I'm very indecisive.. I can't help it and if you actually spent about a week solid with me you'd probably want to strangle me..
Hopefully I will make up my mind this week seeing as how I need to let my Employer know if I am leaving from work early on Friday to make the trip at a decent time.

As it looks right now, I don't think I'll have to work on the 24th. I'm not real sure as the big wigs will be in my office next week. Who knows, I may get fired. I would really like to show up and meet you all and I am planning on it. I may have a gauge face to put on for those of you who can give me some tips on how to do it. I live about half way between Dubuque and the Quad Cities so the ride won't be bad. Wifey wants to come along, she's not much of a gearhead but I did see her pick up a Vtwin Harley motor and carry it before! Well my paint buzz is almost wore off, so I'm back to the garage working on the razzi. Looks like I could be rolling in on my stockie 16's with the winter tires on unless I can find two new front tires before then.

No one got in trouble for driving a car with a racing package or anything. And the BBQ grill got fired up as scheduled. Thanks AmesBlackCat for the hospitality!

OMG I had a blast this last weekend.. I swear there were some times that I have never laughed so hard.. I'm so going to hell for all the amazing antics that I pulled in Ames and Des Moines with Mr. Special K and The Wheelchair bound Pirate... I really don't think the people of Ames will ever be the same..
only sucky part was rippin open my finger on that diamond plate.. otherwise again, fantastic time despite the weather. Thanks to everyone and a very special thanks to Justin who helped me with my covers...
made it home at midnight and despite my "ILLEGAL RACING PACKAGE" did not get pulled over or harrassed by any police officers..
Hope you all enjoyed the Wisconsin humor and cheese. :)

I just have to get them and my body kit painted... and then.... and then... and then... oh, and then put them on! YAY!
Crispy

those fenders are sweet! I can't wait to see them painted... make sure you tell the shop to mask off all those grills.. thats a pet peeve of mine (seeing the grills the same color as the body piece) it will look much better...
the angel eyes were intense... so very cool.. :)

Jen and I had a good time also. Sorry I was so out of it. I guess I had the beginings of the flu. About midnight my skin felt like it was on fire. last night I took my temp and it was 102.7. Jen has been playing nurse. :) So I've been laying in bed totally miserable since. Finally feeling better now luckily cause I have tix to the Slipknot concert tonight

My ticket would have been a trip to the jail in DM if I didn't lie my pants off. NOW, I don't want anybody to lie to a cop O-TAY.. Lying is NOT good.
Oh who am I kidding .. It was so much fun going 100 mph for like 2 miles. Poor Justin and Chris had to get questioned b/c of me. I so didn't like Iowa so now I sure don't like the state. I was so happy to drive into MN on my way home last weekend and I was even more HAPPY when I got to SD. No, Iowa is ok ( just a small ok)

umm, i've never been the kind of person to be like, my state is better than yours or my town is better or whatever. But why is it the state's fault that you were being dumb? 45 mph over the limit and u didn't think for a second that you might get pulled over?

Look I am not blaming the any state. It was my fault anyways like I was blaming others. Geez... I am just saying that it was nice to get back home after driving 4 hrs in the rain in the dark. (I enjoyed seeing new ppl and seeing what others have put into thier cgrs. It was great to finally put a face to those who you talk online with everyday).

yes, were you there and had to listen to the same sob story for a few hours. didn't think so. I unfortunatly lived with someone for 4 years that couldn't accept resposability for there actions. It tends to get on my nerves.
Excuse me for being a responsable, productive person. It must trully be a sad life for you always living in hate and loathing.
and to be just like you the Midwest jacka$$. why haven't you been banned yet, all you do is bring the rest of the group to your miserable level. I don't believe I have seen on positive post come from you since I joined.

If everyone remembers the homemade angel eyes we hooked up on Panthro's coug the weekend of our meet in Ames (linky) (http://www.amesthundercats.com/GeneralImages/AprilInAmes/AprilInAmes%20004corrected.jpg), we just finished installing a blue set on aLbinchicken's coug this weekend. I took a lot of pics and am planning to do a how to. Mine is next with a set of red today. Maybe we'll have pics of the three with their eyes on tonite.

thanks!!!
AmesBlackCat

I think we finished up the cheese tonight during the Soprano's. Thanks bunches!
The fans are really all you need to do the neon Angel Eyes. Some very fine, strong wire and a drill with a small bit will also be needed. I'm trying to get the How To posted on our website. When it is complete I will post a link in a new thread both in the Midwest forums and in the How To forum.
BTW, I have now installed 3 sets. Green for Panthro, Blue for aLbinochicken, and most of a red set for me. Broke the last tube in the last headlight...:banghead: Of course I didn't order a spare. So I ordered another today with 3 day shipping. Should have it in Wed night. :)
