ok today i was coming home from work and there this neon in front of me ( he works there to i don't know him) its a 02-03 rt that has the magnum 2.0. i looked up the specs it has 150hp. any way he kept flooring it and pulling away then slow down. so i decided to see what he got. so he floored it again so i dropped it from 4th to 2nd by this time he already had a jump on me. i gained in 2nd but when i hit 3rd we stayed even nobody gained any distance until i shut it down half way through 3rd and he just kept going. what im wondering is who would win from a stop or side by side at 60mph were he didn't have the advantage of being in front and taking off when he felt like. he has exhaust(i don't know about anything else) and mtx. i have a intake, duals,and a mtx v6. i never ran a neon so i don't know what their capable of.

I have raced and won against that model neon. Although it didnt have exhaust and i couldnt tell the transmission it had. I would guess you could probably win.

Yeah, what's sad is our cars are should have been put on weight watchers. The amt. of weight our cars have doesn't justify it's power output against these cars. Still though, I'd rather have a cougar than a neon anyday, likewise w/ the j-body's, ecotecs.

Those damned Neons weight about as much as an RC car... that 150horse goes a long way.

my friend is rollin around in a brand new neon rental car as his accord is in the body shop right now. it is about as base model as you can get. power nothing, plane jane crapper. anyway, the other night he and i got lined up at a light and he wanted to run just for the heck of it, it was not even funny how slow that car is. the neon was an atx as is my coug. but i was surprised at how little amount of power that car had.
