Well taking my car to the dealer to get it fixed. When smash my hood pops open and crushes my windshield.....What more can happen!

Everytime i hear about someones hood coming open on them it makes me want to install hood pins even more...

Yeah- so um...how DID that happen??? Aftermarket hood? Did you mess with the mechanism when doing other body work?

Was it fully latched?

I know a lot of people who have had their cars towed, and never totally latched the hood. Odds are you had it poped open troubleshooting and it never got 100% closed :(:(

Well when mine was totaled the mech did fail.....but that probably has something to do with the impact

I am sorry that that happened to you. I had the same thing happen to me. Before my cougar I had an 96 eclipse and I was just driving down the highway at 70 mph and WHAM! my hood flys up and smashes in my windshield, but even worse, I can't see because I have a hood in my way and I am driving 70 mph! Well thankfully I was able to slow down and work my way off the side of Interstate 77 using guidelines. So you think that sucks? well I get it fixed and then the same exact thing happens to me 3 months later!!! That is when I sold the eclipse and got my Cougar.

Yea i was trrying to hurry up and take it to the dealer cuz it was supposed to get painted that night. But i guess i didnt shut the hood all the way.

I keep reading about this happening more and more. When I saw it in Trains, Planes and Automobiles (John Candy) I thought to myself "thats funny but not believable." I guess it is now. Sorry about your luck.
