Hello, I am new to NECO and have a LIM question I have a early 99 2.5 mtx Cougar with the return style fuel system. I know the early 99 Cougars have the non SVT LIM and the late 99 2.5 Cougars have the SVT LIM. My question is, do the late 99, 00, & 01 Contours have the SVT LIM? Thanks

Rule of thumb: if it has no fuel return line, it has an SVT-spec LIM.

The returnless system started in May of 1999. If the car was built prior to 5/99 then it's a return system and doesn't have the SVT LIM, if it was built after 5/99 then it's returnless and has the SVT LIM.

Under the throttle body is where the fuel lines run. The returnless system has only one line going in. The return-style has another running out.
Also, the return-style Duratec has a metal MAF sensor housing. The returnless came with a black plastic one.
There are a few other differences as well. Those are the easiest indicators, though.

Or you could just look on the door for the DATE!
So I have a SVT LIM since I have an 2002? Or we talking only on 99 cougs?

Can't you just look for an "SVT" oval sticker on the LIM? Stand in front of the engine, look at the throttle body, and right under it you can see part of the LIM that has the sticker on it. Circled in red in the picture attached.
