Question about door panels

I am going to start taking apart my door panels tomorrow after work so that I can re-fabric them and paint some areas. I know how to get everything off except for the bottom part of the door panel where the carpet is. I want to get rid of the carpet and put fabric there in its place. Does anyone know if or how that bottom part of the door cna be removed?

from what i remember thats part of the panel and doesnt come off

you can peel the carpet off... it is molded onto there.. perhaps you can spread some tiger hair in that spot... smooth it all nice - sand then prime/paint car color?

There are too many seams to be able to just pull the carpet off. It hides a lot of things, recovering is the best bet, but the adhesive SUX big time

Well, for now this project is on hold for a couple more weeks. I can't afford the fabric here so I'm going to work on this at my Mom's while I'm down home April 17th for a FL Neco meet. There's only one fabric store around here and the prices are crazy; I think it's because they have no competition and know they can charge what they want and people have to buy it because they're the only ones around. I'm still going to look in P'scola next week sometime but I'll just wait until I can get the right fabric for a good price. Thanks Crispy for your info.
