Anyone heard of this from GReddy?

Hey all,

I was watching TRUCKS a couple of weeks ago with my father. They had some kind of eletronic tuning kit that took off almost 2 seconds on the quarter of a Chevy Diesel.

Earlier today, I was looking through one of my old, (2003), import mags. On a Subaru WRX, they too had the same type of thing from GReddy.

So, I finally did a search.

Here's what I got:

Anyone heard of it? Also, by the looks of it, it seems like it may be used for ALL cars - a big plus, eh?

Since most Cougar owners have no form of FI (turbo/SC) wise, it probably wouldnt benefit us. heh

That thing looks similar to Hypertech Power Programmer that the 'Two Guy's Garage use'. They always use it on trucks and SUVs and they get big gains. One time they got 92hp out of a towtruck with it. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, I thought it was "powerful".

So, you need some type of forced induction in order for this thing to work? That's what I was thinking except that I thought there was no turbo in the diesel I saw on "Trucks".

Maybe I am wrong...:(

If it was the current body style, then it was a turbo diesel.

i know what trucks you are talking about it was a duramax turbo diesel, and did you watch the exhaust when he stomped on it when it was "tuned to the max" it was blowing so much [censored] out of that exhasut

You do need a FI engine for it to work. It changes the boost levels as well as changes the ecu temporarily. It will not work on your car unless your one of the few on these boards who have it FI.

Also, what is FI? Sorry to ask what's probably a pretty dumb question, but I am curious.

Forced Induction.....i.e. Turbo, Supercharged

FI= forced induction

Usually a turbo or supercharger, and some consider nitrous to be forced induction as well
