A local tint shop here in Evansville is going to do my sides and rear 5% Limo with an "eyebrow" on the front windshield for $135. Should I reconsider based on the fact that my car will be dark EXCEPT for the front windshield, which won't be tinted? Should I get a different percent of tint on the eyebrow portion of the front windshield to make it look non-rice? Or just try to find a shop that will put some low percent tint on my front windshield, maybe 25% or so?I get this done Monday (tomarrow) at 2.

if all your worried about is the banner at the top being to dark then i woudl say you will be fine. my rear three and banner are limo and the sides one step up and i haven't had any problems seeing things

it'll be pretty dark if you just get the sides and rear done (5%), but it's up to you for the eyebrow, i think it would look good if you went 5% on the eyebrow, but for legal reasons its not good

Well, I'm not really worried about "seeing," par say....I'm more worried about it looking good with the eyebrow.

tinting the front windshield in most states is 100% illegal except for the eyebrow, and except for those who need it to see and have a permission slip (2nd grade style) from their eye doctor. then its legal. the eyebrow looks good if its dark like the rest of your car and it fits proper. most shops will use a vinyl strip, not the tint film to do this. get them to do the film and it'll look great. otherwise it will not "blend" in as well as it could. i've got limo on mine except for the doors, and it looks great. i say yay, go for it.

I have 5% all around, with a black vinyl strip up front. It looks damn good. I can't see at night, but it looks damn good. :)

The tint "brow" strip at the top will look fine I have one... and as long as it is transparent(not black vinyl)
and doesn't go below the AS1 line(which our cars come without from the factory) but as long as it
doesn't extend past the mirror mount you should be legal.

I'll be sure to ask them about the transparent film, and not the black vinyl tomarrow.

Thanks for all the groovy tips, will post pictures much later, once I get a better camera :)

2nd grade?! my teachers asked for permission slips right up to grade 13! always checking up on the kids who would skip classes. heh.

anyway, on topic... limo tint will look awesome - but what about the cops in your area?
i mean, i hear about people getting pulled over cause their spoiler is too big, lights are too bright, exhaust is too loud... windows being too dark is a definite possibility

The final verdict: Tinting was put on yesterday-
5% Quarter windows
15% Sides and Rear
15% Windshield Eyebrow tint

Looks very nice, will be posting pictures soon.

The cops around Evansville, IN are not really notorious for pulling people over regarding improper equipment. In Henderson, KY, however (about 10 minutes away), they'll pull you over for anything pretty much...anything to fill their quota. My friends earlier model Cougar got pulled over for having too loud of an exhaust...

Thanks for all the input again, guys.

I had my windows done 5% on the sides and back and they did the whole front windshield with 35%. Since the sides and back are so dark, you can't even see in the front windshield.

PA is really strick on tint...I have 45% on my driver and passenger windows and 35% on my rear 3 and cops have left me alone despite being pulled over and harrassed by any number of cops. I know someone with 5% and he can't see out at night to back up...or it is really hard to see behind you. Also the color of your interior makes a difference...I have tan interior so it looks lighter...when I put a blanket over my back seats to keep sun off them it makes it much darker and harder to see in.

i know in GA the law is 32% or lower is illegal,,, i have 13% right now all around and have been pulled over 3 times,,, but im going 5% all around when i get my license back,,, if u'r going 15% u might as well go 5% to make it look good,,, or go 15% all around,, i dont think it looks good when the tint is different shades around

i had 13% all the way around and it looked damn good! white cougar with black windows, wow. but now the sides and quarters are like 29% and the rear is still 13%, it still looks good but not as good as it did.
